For Hyperprolactinemia "It's been almost one year since discovering a pituitary microadenoma and starting the treatment with cabergoline, 1 mg/week. Haven't taken any blood tests since then to check on the prolactin levels, but next year will do so in order to establish if the tumor has shrunk or if I need to take the meds for another 1 to 3 years. My initial side effects were sleepiness, a stuffed nose, anxiety, and panic attacks. But it hasn't made changes in personality at all. No increased sexual drive (my boyfriend would've loved that), no urges to buy stuff, no depression or clouded thinking. Nowadays, I rarely get a stuffed nose and haven't had an anxiety attack in months. I believe that every person experiences this treatment differently, but don't be afraid to take it. For the majority, myself included, taking cabergoline is a good experience, the chances of you having a negative reaction to it are possible, but minimal. Take care, and I wish all of you good health and good luck in your endeavors."

For Hyperprolactinemia "I’ve been taking cabergoline for 2 years on and off again. I say on and off because of the extreme side effects. If I don’t get a proper night's sleep and drink plenty of water, I’m a different person. I’m angry, I’m anxious, I’m sad, tired, and so very tired. I wake up feeling like I’ve spent the last 5 years in a desert with very limited water. I’m not myself, and I can't handle this medicine. I wish there was something else."

For Hyperprolactinemia "- Male - Diagnosed with macro prolactinoma - initial levels 315,000, which was extremely high, the tumor was pressing on my skull and optic nerves. - went on 1x2.5 mg once a week and gradually increased dosage to 2x5 mg twice a week - 8 months later, levels are down to 1,200. Side effects - first was mood swings, insomnia, extreme drowsiness. - after a month or so, I noticed I felt angry quite a bit and it has caused issues with friends and family. - after a few months, my testosterone levels increased and so did sexual urges and penis length. - after 6 months, I started getting anxiety attacks, which I haven’t had for over 10 years. So for me, the side effects are quite bad, but it’s working, so I will report back in a few months. It’s been very tough for me."

"This medicine did help shrink my pituitary tumor but did more harm than good. I had almost all symptoms. And would love for this medicine to be taken off the market. Being on this medicine, I lost all my friends, got in arguments with my mother, and couldn’t stay in any relationships. I’m usually an outgoing, happy person, but this medicine put me in deep depression, and I felt like I had multiple personalities, never knowing who I was going to be that day. I started this medicine in 2014 when I was 13 years old. It messed with my emotions, I had extreme weight gain immediately, severe stomach cramps, depression, increased anxiety, random panic attacks, and sensitivity. My doctor took me off the medicine because of how much it was affecting me, and on December 26, 2018, I had my tumor removed. I feel so much better and happier. The medicine was worse than having the tumor alone. Cabergoline did not completely shrink my tumor or completely lower my prolactin levels."

For Hyperprolactinemia "I've been taking cabergoline for about a month now due to high prolactin levels (76). It was prescribed by my doctor, but side effects have been rough. My anxiety levels have been through the roof. The first time I took the pill, I had a horrible headache, sometimes it's difficult to breathe, and last week I almost fainted at work. I haven't checked my prolactin levels again since I'm waiting for the treatment to be over (a month and a half of taking a pill of 0.5 mg twice a week), but oh man, so far it's been a terrible experience. I just want it to be over. But hey, at least I got my period back and my sex drive back, and I wasn't even aware that I had lost it."

For Hyperprolactinemia "I have been taking cabergoline due to a microadenoma, but the side effects have been fatal. I have not been able to do a deposition in days after taking it. My depression and mental fog are clouding my life. I have multiple personalities now and get angry and anxious at the slight discomfort."

For Hyperprolactinemia "This medication brought down my prolactin levels, but it caused episodes of anxiety and tinnitus, which I have been told has no cure. I was told that I would not be able to have children while taking this medication, which was not correct. If aware of the long-term effects, I would not have taken the medication and tried a herbal supplement if one was available."
