Brimonidine ophthalmic for Eye Redness "This was recommended by my eye doctor. I used Lumify, only one drop, maybe once a week to go out. Yesterday, I applied one drop to each eye to go out. About an hour later, I noticed a subconjunctival hemorrhage in the outer corner of my right eye. This morning, my entire eye is bright red. I looked up the side effects, and this was listed as an infrequent side effect. I have no other risk factors: I didn't cough, sneeze, vomit, strain, rub, no foreign object, no hypertension, no diabetes, and take nothing that causes bleeding or bruising. This should be taken off the market."

Brimonidine ophthalmic for Eye Redness "Amazing. I wear contacts and work a desk job, so staring at the monitor all day is a given. These make such a difference in the comfort of my eyes. They don't feel or look strained. My eyes are clear and bright beyond 8 hours. I would have happily given them a 10, but they are so expensive."

Brimonidine ophthalmic for Eye Redness "This product made my eyes so much worse. I bought it because I thought it would remove the redness that I had from drinking the night before. A year later, I'm addicted to these drops, and every time I stop, my eyes are bloodshot. I've seen 4 ophthalmologists, and my eyes are fine... On top of that, I get headaches, depression, and these drops have cost me lots of medical visits."

For Glaucoma, Open Angle "I have no idea as to the effectiveness, however, let me start with the inconvenience of stopping mid-day, taking out contacts for 20 minutes, reapplying makeup, pinching your tear duct shut, etc. I can understand why people just stop taking it. The three times a day really isn't doable. Second, I believe it is causing nasal congestion and severe dry mouth. I'm going to stick it out for a month to see if it actually lowers the pressure because the Timolol drops had absolutely no impact. Since it doesn't cause any stinging, like the Timolol, I have no idea if the drops are even making it into my eyes."

Brimonidine ophthalmic for Eye Redness "I experienced the rebound effect after long-term use. My eyes became addicted to the drops and were always red. I thought it was the only thing helping my redness short-term, but it was what was harming me. This is not good for long-term use. Please be warned!"

Brimonidine ophthalmic for Eye Redness "Very disappointed. My initial experience was great, with clear, bright eyes after using this product. However, after some time, I am experiencing the same broken capillaries and irritation that other reviewers complain about."

Brimonidine ophthalmic for Eye Redness "I read reviews online about using this product 2 years post-LASIK and saw no red flags. So I used just one drop, and the next day - within 18 hours, mind you - my right eye all of a sudden started hemorrhaging. Within seconds of using it, I could immediately feel it working, and it felt like my eyes were expanding. It took the red out instantly, but for hours that feeling of my eyes being on a steroid high intensified as the night wore on. I’ll never use this product again."

Brimonidine ophthalmic for Eye Redness "Lumify has made my eyes BLOODSHOT red over time. My eyes have been very red for a year now, and I keep using Lumify to make them less red. However, I believe that Lumify is the cause of my red eyes. There are splotchy red spots all over, and now it’s as if I am addicted to these eye drops! I wish I could get the hundreds of dollars that I have spent on these back. DO NOT BUY!"

Brimonidine ophthalmic for Eye Redness "Wow! I have tried every redness, dry eye, and allergy eye drop, and this is literally the ONLY thing that works for me, and it works instantly! Not only does the redness completely disappear, but also my eyes feel better! I've been using it for about 2 months now and don’t know how I would live without it! Highly recommend!"

Brimonidine ophthalmic for Eye Redness "Worked great for me for 3 years, then developed a sensitivity - red raccoon circles under my eyes. I had no idea that eye drops could affect the skin. I stopped taking Lumify and am hoping for a full recovery. I recently received an email from Lumify announcing their skincare line that will seem to address the sensitivities - what kind of eye drops have skincare for under the eyes? I doubt I’ll use Lumify anymore."

Brimonidine ophthalmic for Eye Redness "I started using Lumify for 5 days. It did clear up my red eyes within minutes. When I put my contacts in after 10 minutes, within minutes they were just as red as usual, I'm assuming from pollen allergies. This happened every time I used the eye drops, plus now I am having problems seeing as well with my contacts. Don't know if the two are related somehow, but I threw away whatever eye drops were left. Will not use Lumify again."

Brimonidine ophthalmic for Eye Redness "I was diagnosed with Meibomian Gland Dysfunction, and these eye drops definitely do work for red eyes. I have not had the negative effects some reviewers are pointing out, however, I try to limit my use to only a few or a couple of times a week. I would highly advise against using this daily, no matter what anyone says, including my eye doctor. Some doctors say thumbs up, and some say thumbs down. Use your own judgment."

Brimonidine ophthalmic for Eye Redness "I was prescribed Lumify by my optometrist for treating my chronic red eye. It works like a charm! I only put one drop in each eye every morning, and the red completely disappears! I never exceed a single drop in each eye per day, so maybe that's why some have worse side effects than others? For those who say the FDA cut corners to put this out or think it should be recalled... remember that one size does not fit all. The possible side effects are clearly listed on the information given with the drops, and EVERY over-the-counter product is 'use at your own risk'. I probably would not have tried this if not recommended by my eye doctor, but if it's good enough for a professional, it's good enough for me!"

Brimonidine ophthalmic "I have used Lumify once a day for a few weeks. My eyes were always cleared up by it within minutes. On Wednesday of this week, I used Lumify in the morning and noticed that there was a spot that was still bloodshot. By early afternoon, I had developed a subconjunctival hemorrhage in my eye. I went to the eye doctor the very next day as the blood is pooling between the layers on my eye, causing a bump along the bottom of my eye, and my eyelid pulls on it when I move my eye. It is now Saturday, and the hemorrhage still appears to be bleeding. Initially, my eye was only half red. Now my entire eye is red with blood pooling under my bottom eyelid again. Hopefully, this will heal on its own."

Brimonidine ophthalmic for Eye Redness "I’ve used these eye drops for almost 3 months now. They really helped my red, dry eyes, however, I noticed that I was getting a bald spot the size of a thumb on the back of my head. I’m not sure if hair loss/alopecia is a side effect, but I will stop using these eye drops for the time being and evaluate if they are related."

For Glaucoma, Open Angle "I have been using brimonidine tartrate 0.15% for many years now, twice a day. It has significantly decreased my intraocular pressure. The only thing it is not helping is my eye redness, which is aggravated by my dry eyes. Also, it is very expensive at CVS for a 90-day supply (around $600-something until I reach our insurance deductible, then I only have to pay 15% of the cost)."

Brimonidine ophthalmic for Eye Redness "I bought the 2.5 ml bottle, and when it didn’t last long, I bought the 7.5 ml bottle, and they are EXACTLY THE SAME BOTTLE! I think they are ripping people off! Beware! The only difference is the box was longer. How these companies get away with packaging their products on size and weight is criminal. The product is only the smallest part of the whole product!"

Brimonidine ophthalmic for Eye Redness "I've used Lumify as needed for several years. I'm 78 and red eyes make you look older. They're like magic. I only use it about 4 times a week, once in the morning. I can't imagine some of the symptoms people describe, so I guess I'm one of the lucky ones that don't have sensitivity to an ingredient."

Brimonidine ophthalmic for Eye Redness "I was interested in trying Lumify because of the commercial, it says it was used to clear your red eyes. I used it off and on for over a year. I have a history of blepharitis infections (last one over 5 years ago) and severe dry, red, irritated eyes. I've used it consistently for 30 days at a time, and I would notice that my eyes would burn more, or I would wake up with dizziness or headaches. I even had bad dreams with this. I kept using it because I wasn't sure if it was truly the Lumify. So after a while, I stopped using it, and I noticed all of that had gone away. I didn't have the dizziness, the constant headaches, or the bad dreams. Now, I started having blurry vision. I had LASIK about 7 years ago and thought maybe it was due to that. So the Lumify did not help me, it only made my situation worse. On top of the red, irritated, dry eyes, I now have blurry vision. My last eye appointment was February 2022, everything checked out except for now I have a stigmatism, which I've never had in my life."

Brimonidine ophthalmic for Eye Redness "Product is too expensive for the amount of product you get. Yes, true all you need is one drop, but a strong person will squeeze more than one drop, it is not metered. Even with a $4.00 coupon, still expensive."

Brimonidine ophthalmic for Eye Redness "I used this product previously with good results until yesterday. About an hour after use, I felt pain that felt like a stye coming on. It wasn't until this morning I saw the pain was due to a clump of burst blood vessels in the eyeball of one eye. Why is this product on the market?"

Brimonidine ophthalmic for Eye Redness "Don't use these drops every day, folks. That's why you're experiencing all of these negative side effects. I read these reviews, and I couldn't believe people were using these every day. These drops are best used on special occasions. Don't, I repeat, don't use these every day. They are not for everyday use!"

Brimonidine ophthalmic for Eye Redness "I see an ophthalmologist twice a year and I am diagnosed with blepharitis (inflammation of the eyelids). With the combination of eyelid scrubs with Lumify in the AM and Refresh eye drops at night, my eyes feel more like normal and relieved from the burning, puffy red eyes I always have when I wake up. Lumify makes my eyes feel so much better by reducing my inflammation and redness. The low-dose ingredients are safer for your eyes than the harmful ingredients that you will find in other red-eye drops. I’ve been using this product for about 5 months and will continue. I took two points off of a 10-star rating because the results are not long term, but when my year-round allergies are at their worst, Lumify came in for the save... allowing me to open those red puffy eyes in less than 60 seconds to whiter, less puffy eyes."

Brimonidine ophthalmic for Eye Redness "I received a sample in the mail and was familiar with it because of the extensive TV marketing, so I tried Lumify and my eyes were beautifully white! I ran out and bought the $20 bottle. I was so excited and thought that I was rid of red eyes forever... well, tried it on day 2, and by evening I had a terrible burning pain in my eyes that was still present after day 4, with no further use of the product after day 2. I believe that overall, this is not a good product and I hope it does not take someone losing vision permanently before it is finally pulled from the shelves and discontinued!"

Brimonidine ophthalmic for Eye Redness "I was lured by the commercials on television to try the product despite the high price. I figured I’d buy one of the smaller bottles, though they all seem to come in the same size, just more or less filled. I was pretty pleased to see good results for the first month or so, so I splurged and bought a double pack to save some money overall. Before opening up a bottle from the double pack, which I had already removed from the packaging, I woke up with a subconjunctival hemorrhage in my left eye and an enlarged red vein in my right eye. Needless to say, I’ll have to bite the bullet on the $30 double pack since I’ll no longer be using this product. Very disappointed. Have always had good luck with B&L products till now. I guess if it’s too good to be true, it is."
