For Bacterial Infection "I used this for getting rid of an abcess on my gums caused from a broken tooth. The issue seems to be a thing of the past. I am healed. The only thing is that it gave me a yeast infection. Other than that, took it as directed and am good as new."

For Bacterial Infection "I was treat in an Urgent Care Center for an infection. I am rather sensitive to antibiotics and so warned the nurse treating me. She prescribed the drug (875 mg, 2X daily). I took the first pill with a meal about 6PM. I awoke at 2AM with tremendous abdominal pain and diarrhea. I called 911 and was taken to the hospital via ambulance. I was there for 5 days while they treated me mainly for dehydration. I was near death."

For Dental Abscess "Woke up to entire left side swollen the size of a basketball. Went to the ER and they gave me two shots of a strong antibiotic. The dr prescribed 500 mugs Amoxicillin and Metronidazole three times a day. I’ve been on both for four days and although a lot of the swelling has gone down it hasn’t at the site of the tooth that is causing the abscess. It’s still just as bad and the only thing that has worked for the pain is ice packs applied constant to the site of swelling. Thank goodness for ice packs. They are the only reason I’ve been able to sleep. Hopefully the antibiotics will work better over the next few days or it’s back to the ER as it will be four more days before the dentist office opens."

For Bacterial Infection "I have a bad bacteria infection from a broken tooth in the front of my mouth. I tried natural remedies that normally work but didn’t this time. My face swelled a lot so ER dr prescribed Amoxicillin. First three doses (500mg every 8 hours) caused excruciating pains (more than original pain) I used ibuprofen with it which really helped my pain for 3 hrs at a time. Then read about liquid Benadryl and milk of magnesia 2 minute gargle. It was incredible. Now on day two 5 doses in, I’m in no pain at all. I also take every dose with a probiotic called florastor to prevent side effects and it’s working too. I have not given 10 yet because I am not done with my 10 day course of treatment."

For Dental Abscess "I got my wisdom teeth pulled two months ago and got put on antibiotics, had no problem with it at all. Now, two months later, I'm on amoxicillin because I need a root canal treatment and I keep feeling a lump in my throat and pains in the front of my neck down to my collarbone. Sometimes my ears will hurt or my eyes will hurt, or I'll feel like I have a headache. I've never been allergic to medications before, but I've been taking this for two days now and feel awful. I go in for my RCT tomorrow and will have to ask my endodontist about this, but I'm almost sure that it's the amoxicillin causing this. I just wish I wasn't in pain anymore."

For Dental Abscess "Took amoxicillin for a dental abscess. Worked to lessen the infection but day 3 woke up COVERED in horrible, raised, angry, red welts/hives all over my arms. Stopped taking immediately. This is apparently a common side effect and not necessarily a true allergy, but there doesn't seem to be a way to differentiate outside a skin test. Just in case my dentist switched me to clindamycin. For my purposes, I'm calling it an allergy going forward because it's too scary to risk."

For Otitis Media "This medication works amazingly for ear infections. I have had more ear infections than I can count in my life both as a child and an adult. I have had ruptured ear drums, double ear infections, tubes, and surgery to repair my ear drums. This medication has always relieved symptoms. For mild to moderate infections it starts relieving pain in 12-48 hours (but finish the whole prescription or it will return) and for severe or ruptured ear drums it can take up to 5 days but hey it does the trick. Just take ibuprofen around the clock too as it will speed up the process due to anti-inflammatory properties. I get nausea with this medicine but only when I haven't eaten or am very overtired & always get yeast infection. Dr. can prescribe medicine in advance for this."

For Dental Abscess "I had a root canal abscess for quite some time. After much thought, I decided to go with the dentists suggestion to take the tooth out. It's been fantastic, even the bone graft seemed to heal very well. The a few days ago, six months after extraction, I woke up with pulsing pain in the area of the bone graft. I had some cephlixin antibiotics left over from another dentist prescription for the abscess from the year before, so even though I hate taking them I started on these antibiotics. I saw my dentist a day later, as soon as he could see me, and he suggested I swap to amoxicillin. The cephlexin had not really done much. Now, this morning after only two tablets, I am much better. I think it will clear up quickly."

For Dental Abscess "I have never been allergic to amoxicillin (500mg) but I received it last week after a dentist visit to take 3 times daily for 7 days. I originally thought nothing of the symptoms until yesterday when it hurt really bad to urinate. But last night it seemed to go away but today the pain is back. I looked up the symptoms today and yes I had diaherra and itching last week (didn't know why) until now. Also tired, itchy and still hurting when I urinate. I stopped taking the medicine because the pain is so bad. I will talk to my dentist when I go back this week but I have never had issues with Amoxicillin. Something must have changed."

For Urinary Tract Infection "I am paraplegic since an accident in 2002, and you know, para- and quadriplecics are collectors of bacteria in the bladder. As long as the human immune system is able to hold a balance, these bacteria are quiet, but after one is changing the daily routine, get fever, don't drink enough or what else, they begin immediately to reproduce them and a new UTI is born again.... Well, you should never take an antibiotic without to do a urine culture first at a lab, to choose the right medicine afterwards and to be sure it will work, otherwise the chance is real you chose the wrong one one and it doesn't help you. That doesn't mean this antibiotic is of a poor quality, but it will not help just because the bacteria that caused the UTI is resistant against this kind of antibiotic. In that case you threatened your health for nothing, because all this kind of medicine is damaging your liver, and a damaged liver may be the death penalty!"

For Tonsillitis/Pharyngitis "Had symptoms such as swollen gland on my neck, sore throat. Doctor prescribed amoxicillin 500mg (to be taken every 8 hrs) Got so much better after three days, after taking amoxicillin! But do keep in mind, if you have any symptoms such as rashes, stomach upset or nausea, stop taking amoxicillin because you might be allergic to this antibiotic."

For Dental Abscess "I took Amoxicillin twice, for an ear ache and for a tooth ache. Helped both times. No side effects as I took a big load of probiotics (heavy dosing at least every 2 hours...I even took some probiotics at the same time as the antibiotics...counterproductive as antibiotics kill probiotics but it put my mind at ease knowing that I was constantly replenishing the good bacteria in my body even if some of them were getting killed off). I take probiotics and other meds regularly (digestive enzymes, omega 3's, vitamins A-E, etc.) so I've had no problem rebounding from the potential long term effects of antibiotics. Even though I absolutely hate antibiotics, it's the only thing that worked for me with these two conditions."

For Bacterial Infection "I woke up to my jaw swollen. I went to the dentist and they revealed I had an impacted wisdom tooth and it was abcessed as well. . I'm 31 turning 32 while this is happening so this is all very strange . Anyways the dentist prescribed me amoxicillin and after taking it for a day I could really tell the difference. I continued the prescription all the way and the pain and swelling was probably 80% gone . This was over a ten day span while my surgery to get the tooth extraction was supposed to get approved by my insurance . A week passed and my symptoms came back heavy and in full effect and I still hadn't heard anything from insurance or dentist so I went back in. The dentist prescribed me amoxicillin again, this is the first night I've been on it again and the swelling doesn't seem to be going down like last time but I'm going to try and be patient. My fingers are crossed that they will get this tooth out of my face soon ."

For Bacterial Infection "I've suffered from folliculitis for over 20 years. Pus filled pimples came out on my head and lower neck. The specialist dermatologist here in California prescribed a variety of medications that only would removed them temporarily, and they would returned every time with more pus. Amoxicillin 500 mg. Capsule cured me permanently 80-90% of my decease. I'm currently on my last treatment of 1pill 3 times a day to cure the remaining."

For Dental Abscess "my mam hasn't eaten for the last five days because of the pain in her mouth, 3 days ago we went to the A&E and the doctor said that these antibiotics should help, they didn't. She is still taking them hoping for the best, everyday she looks weaker and has barely moved out of bed for the past 2 days, I am absolutely loosing my mind and I'm terrified of what will happen to her. I've tried everything but she can't eat at all because of the extreme amount of pain it causes her. EVEN private dentist said she can't do anything and my mam should get better the same day - that was 2 days ago. If anyone at all has any advice please please give it to me. I have to take care of my 3 younger sibilings which doesn't bother me but seeing my mam in this state absolutely breaks my heart and terries me. I searched up what could happen to her and apparently your body slowly shuts down after 5 days of not eating."

For Otitis Media "I was diagnosed with Otitis Media. It’s been 9 days. On the first day, I lost hearing in my left ear. On the second day, I started experiencing pain and went to the ER. The pain was getting severe and now had discomfort in my right ear. It was so severe, it radiated to my jaw and my neck. The doctor prescribed me 7 days of amoxicillin (3 times a day) and to take ibuprofen. It took 3 days for the severe pain to subside. It still feel like my ears are full and I’m extremely irritable. I went to the doctor yesterday (day 8) as there has not been much improvement since the pain subsided and was almost done my prescription. She prescribed me an extra 4 days of amoxicillin and to take sudafed. The sudafed helped relieve some of the pressure on my ears. The infection is very much still there. In my 9 days, I had pain, nausea, difficulty eating, loss of appetite and off and on my throat feels sore. I am so over this! The amoxicillin worked a bit, but I am nowhere near feeling 100%."

For Bacterial Infection "I had an absess on my gum the pain was bad. I took this and within hours needed no pain killers - gave me a slight headache but nothing bad, just a slight cloudy feeling, but its still is a lot better than someone hitting you with a base ball bat. That's how my face felt without this antibiotic. Top stuff."

For Dental Abscess "My dentist prescribed some amoxicillin after tooth extraction, supposedly to prevent infection. The diarrhea after 3 days was bad enough to stop taking this medicine. Well, since no sign of infection was present or ever present and I needed to spend time outside of a bathroom anyway. That 3-day love affair was it for me and Amoxicillin. Despite the literatures' claims that ALL antimicrobials cause diarrhea, this is the first one that actually caused it for me. I think I'm going to claim an allergy to this one from now on."

For Bacterial Infection "Amoxicillin worked great. Taking probiotics daily with antibiotics is a must to avoid all the stomach side effects (since they kill bacteria, antibiotics can kill the good bacteria in your stomach that helps digest food- hence the nausea and diarrhea etc etc) if you don’t have probiotics at least eat some yogurt daily. Continue for a week after the antibiotic course is done."

Amoxil (amoxicillin) for Upper Respiratory Tract Infection "I am a patient with a cold and cough. Whenever I am exposed to cold for more time without proper covering my body, I get cold and coughing. I immediately start bronchitis effect. I start coughing. I feel very nervous and feeling very sick. No mood for doing any activity. Feel tired and body ache. This situation remains for very long time if I don%u2019t take medicine and ultimately it goes away quickly if I start antibiotics. Amoxicillin is the most effective drug for my bronchitis. It starts effect from the very 1st pill. I feel very comfortable after the prescribed dose is finished. I take MOXIKIND-CV 625 in India. It does not have any side effect to me. I wonder why Indian doctors treat me with the drug contains Cefixime, whenever I suffer from bronchitis. It is never effective at all and ultimately I need to take Amoxicillin and immediately I get relief from my painful bronchitis. Thanks to Amoxicillin."

But now I feel very tired, and caught cold, I feel like my immune system is weaker due to the good bacterias also getting attacked. Thanks to your comments now I can take probiotic supplements with it -(just at a separate time from the antibiotics)."

For Urinary Tract Infection "I was prescribed this for UTI for 7 days. I had no side effects whatsoever while taking it. A week or so after finishing it, my vagina started to itch and I had brown discharge. A few days later, the frequent urination started (I still have it, 3 months on!) together with very dark stools, which took 2 weeks to go back to normal. Amoxicillin must have depleted me of all the good bacteria. It dried me out! The UTI? I still have it now, after trying other antibiotics."

For Dental Abscess "I’ve had bad teeth all my life. I’m terrified of dentists but found a good one that I trust. I had a tooth break where I had a bad cavity... it’s at the nerve yet I don’t feel anything. When taking X-rays the dentist noticed an abscess on another tooth. No pain. I have a compromised immune system and need a few teeth pulled. The dentist put me on amoxicillin 500mg 3 times a day for 7 days. Day 1 after 2 doses I felt very tired and no energy. I had run low grade fevers for a few weeks and after 5 doses I still have a slight fever. Hopefully things start to improve. When they do I’ll change the review"

For Dental Abscess "I reacted differently to amoxicillin CAPSULE vs the amoxicillin TABLET. 500mg for each but they both had completely different effects. In short CAPSULES did nothing for weeks, TABLET was immediate relief for extreme tooth pain. I don’t know why and can’t find any info that explains why. However last year same pain, Same reason, tablets allowed me to sleep for the first time after 4days straight of being up drinking cold water. This year I had been prescribed 500mg capsules by my dermatologist and 500mg tablets by my dentist. I lost bottle of tablets. Pain started creeping in while taking the capsules. Worst day being today while at work. I found the bottle of tablets in my breast pocket took one Tablet and had immediate relief that lasted 30minutes. I would take another but I’d already taken enough of the capsules today and didn’t want to do too much in one day n build some type of resistance/tolerance because all I want is relief"
