For Macular Degeneration "Got my first injection 8 weeks ago. Felt burning sensation in my eyes after injection in both. Eye drops alleviated that sensation. Have had days that my eyesight is blurry and find that the sun and some lighting is bothersome. Will get my next injection this Friday. Was not told what I was being injected with or any possible side effects. Am willing to try it for a while, but hope that I get over the blurring and floater part."

Aflibercept ophthalmic for Macular Degeneration "I have had Lucentis in my right eye for 4 years. Then, I was switched to Eylea. I have had 1 shot in each eye of Eylea so far. I am experiencing headaches, and my vision is a little worse. I am praying the Eylea side effects stop, and my eyes improve."

Aflibercept ophthalmic for Macular Degeneration "I have been receiving injections of Avastin in both eyes for wet AMD for 6 months. My doctor switched me to Eylea today for both eyes. I have had absolutely no side effects. When I got Avastin injections, I would see floaters immediately, but they would gradually get smaller and be completely gone by the next morning. With my Eylea injections in both eyes, there were no floaters at all."

Aflibercept ophthalmic for Diabetic Macular Edema "I started with Avastin, then the doctor moved me to Eylea, which seemed better, but last time the change was minimal (might be due to the holidays and cheating with my diabetes more than normal). Not sure, but he is switching me to Vabysmo. For all of you who find the shots or after the shots painful, check with your doctor first. But I accidentally found out that taking DayQuil about 1/2 hour before helps with the aftereffects. I get extra anesthesia before the shots, and if the doctor waits a little for the anesthesia to kick in, you don't feel the shot. FYI, the extra anesthesia is a shot but does not hurt because it is put where there are no nerves. Hope this helps some of you. Hopefully, someday they will find a pill form of this or, better yet, a cure."

Aflibercept ophthalmic for Macular Degeneration "I've been getting this treatment for wet MD for about a year now, with some improvement in my vision. Now I'm at 7-week intervals. I've always had visual 'bubbles' that last a few hours. After my last shot yesterday, I've had a persistent black circle in that eye, which has not resolved at all. I called the office and was told to wait a couple of days..."

Aflibercept ophthalmic for Macular Degeneration "My personal experience has been more positive than negative. The initial injection was conducted by doctors certified for retina treatment. Great care was given to minimize the possibility of infection. I have received 6 separate injections spaced at 6-week intervals. I received treatment at the Roudebush Veterans Administration Medical Center in Indianapolis. It takes a little while to not get nervous about receiving an eye injection. The doctors who gave me treatment were monitored by the lead doctor in the Retina Clinic. Overall, I have positive reviews for my experience. I hope that other drugs may be available in the future to treat AMD and allow longer periods of time between injections."

Aflibercept ophthalmic for Macular Edema Following Retinal Vein Occlusion "I've been receiving intravitreal injections of Eylea in my right eye since April 2022, after being diagnosed with branch retinal vein occlusion. The medication seems to work well for 8-10 weeks, with central visual acuity improvement mostly stable but often deteriorating over that time frame. Noticeable side effects include a small dark spot in my visual field immediately after the injection, and recently, a dull ache in my right eye."

Aflibercept ophthalmic for Macular Degeneration "Hurts a lot! Injected into eye at 3:00. Still in pain at 7:00. I guess I can't complain about a few hours of suffering if it saves my vision. Also, I can't stop wondering why the people who make it charge over $15,000 for the 2 drops put in my eye today."

Aflibercept ophthalmic for Macular Edema "I started to take Eylea injection for AMD. One injection every 2 weeks for 3 doses. Then my doctor advised me to take it in a regimen to increase duration, with 2 weeks interval between each injection (i.e. 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 weeks). Every time, I did OCT and macula was dry. Now I am continuing every 12 weeks and thank God, vision is OK."

Aflibercept ophthalmic for Macular Degeneration "I was diagnosed with wet AMD OD & dry AMD in OS at the end of 2023. Since then, I have received injections about every 4 weeks. My most recent injection was 4/17/24. My doctor is very pleased with the effects of these injections and I am now using Eylea HD. Having had every major commonly known eye condition beginning in 1964 with an infected corneal ulcer from ill-fitting hard CLs and including glaucoma in my 20s, cataracts in my 30s followed by detached retinas, Fuchs Dystrophy requiring two cornea transplants, pints (?) of eye drops, and 7+ eye surgeries that my 73 y.o. memory can recall, not including small procedures. The only consistent side effect from these injections has been the familiar 'brow ache' that plagued me with my bouts of glaucoma (open-angle variety), as well as Charles Bonnet. I have technically been free of glaucoma in both eyes since having a trabeculotomy (circa 1978), probably in OS. My cornea specialist pronounced me 'cured,' which came as a surprise."

For Macular Edema "Almost 18 months and too many shots, maybe 12. I think Diamox and diuretic would help the situation more, and shots are awful. Lots of side effects, and the doctor is like a car salesman: 'one more shot' run."
