I saw my doctor yesterday about my Vyvanse barely working(even with dose adjustment) and he said he has never had this happen or even heard of it. So he prescribed me Concerta. It has been absolutely horrible, my focus is worse, hallucinations(auditory), headaches, etc. My doctor didn't want to prescribe me anything with an Amphetamine, he believes if one stops working, they all do. My question is if that's true, and that even though Vyvanse barely works for me now, would that mean things like Adderall wouldn't work either(since both active ingredients are Lisdexamphetamine)?
If vyvanse stops working, could I take adderall?

Well i will say yeah that's a little different because amphetamines are pretty strong they are called stimulants and most work some are strong then others u just have to find the one that best works for you. To me adderall immediate release and extended release are by far the strongest in the market. And then comes vyvanse or Ritalin. Concerta wasn't for me it made me nauseous.
I know adderal is stronger
Also it builds up a high tolerance rate quickly.
It sounds like if vyvance worked at first and then stopped then you have reached your tolerance level meaning going up on dosage.
It's very much the same with adderal you keep getting doses upped and it hard getting off
Talk to your dr or go to another dr to see what other options you may have.
I've known people who do well on accupunvture and holistic healing
It's true that adderal does help some people
It's true there are some people stay at the same dose for years but it's not what usually happens.
It could be its just not what you need.
Vivance is weaker than adderal
Concerts is like Ritalin
But adderal is the strongest one and has a high risk abuse level because you build up a resilience to it very quickly and before you know it your taking way to much and now are in trouble getting off
My dr told me
Once you have used adderal other things don't work
So I would steer clear of add if you can
Maybe ask your dr about modafranil or look up some of the natural ways to help ADHD
Im having the same issue. I have been on vyvanse for a good while but it seems not to be working anymore. When I took adderal it seemed to work alot better and last longer. I dont know if my doctor will change me because she says vyvanse is a longer acting form of adderal. By the way can you sleep on vyvanse and eat a proper diet? Thanks. Kevin
I found it easier to sleep while it still was in me, and it actually helped me with my diet since I overeat because of depression.
Ooooo-kay...
Your Dr is a moron. Vyvanse is metabolized into similar amphetamine salts as those found in adderall. As a matter of fact the premise of the advertising campaign geared towards Dr's was 'adderall for adults without all the side effects'.
In my experience people become accustomed to vyvanse at a faster rate than adderall but this could also be due to the lesser side-effect profile.
Type; That is what your doctor is saying, And you are not going to change that mind well have to talk to the doctor and find something else for you.But that is what the doctor is saying won't give that to you if VYVANSE IS not working same family of drugs.
