Concerta's effects on Learning new languages, do you learn faster with Concerta?

I'm wondering if anyone tested his ability to learn new languages (say from scratch) and compare it to how it used to be pre-medication? I've been diagnosed with ADD at 24 and I always wanted to learn more languages (advanced in 3 atm) but never really started doing anything toward this direction. Now when Concerta therapy starts I'll most likely finnaly get started and the simple question is: Do you learn "much" faster when on Methylphenidate (Concerta)? What's your dose?
Short version: Does concerta (Methylphenidate) speeds up learning of new languages?

Hello pstachecki. It very likely might. Your focus will certainly be working over time. I speak/write in 4 languages along with 3 dialects. Never been on any of the ADD/ADHD drugs. Hopefully you'll find Concerta to be helpfull in regards to a new language. Tot ziens! See you! A prochen! (till next time) daag! Byee! pledge

Pledge, It wouldn't matter if I took Concerta or not, Mandarin Chinese and Russian are not a possibility. However French, Italian, and Spanish I kind of know ... I forgot Yiddish. Ciao, Laura

All sounds like greek to me! Ha! I do agree with your answers tho'. Being able to concentrate on one thing at a time would most definately give you better ability to learn something new as you would be spending more time with it...

Methyphenidate allows one with ADD to focus on the task at hand. Whether it would help you learn a new language, well that is totally up to you and your abilities. Sincerely, Sweet Hippie
