Hi, Bonnie!
The answer to your question is too technical for most of us to understand but basically says that Trintellix helps regulate the amount of serotonin in your system by acting on neurotransmitters and receptor sites in the brain.
"Serotonin impacts every part of your body, from your emotions to your motor skills. Serotonin is considered a natural mood stabilizer. It’s the chemical that helps with sleeping, eating, and digesting.
Serotonin in the brain is thought to regulate anxiety, happiness, and mood. Low levels of the chemical have been associated with depression and anxiety."
So by increasing your serotonin level Trintellix will help alleviate your depression and make you a much happier person.
Best regards and I hope this helps you some.
