I find that my anxiety is getting worse. Constantly have butterflies and tingling in stomach. Smallest setback makes me panic. PDoc wants me to wait a month before making a decision. Is it possible that Trintellix can eventually help anxiety?
I have been on Trintellix 10mg for 9 days. Anxiety is worse?

I have been on .5 for a year and it has helped me tremendously. Hang in there it will get better.
Hi, Animosity! Yes, increased anxiety is typical for some people starting Trintellix, actually any antidepressant/anxiolytic, but this usually resolves within just a couple of weeks. And yes, it will eventually help your anxiety but it can take 4-6 weeks to feel the full benefit of the medication.
These types of medications take time to work so try to have patience knowing that things will begin improving very soon.
Thank you very much for your optimistic response. That is basically what my pdoc has been telling me. As you can imagine it is hard to be patient. Good to know that the anxiety can eventually be reduced. I have been on virtually every SSRI and SNRI on the market and the side effects are what lead me to try Trintellix. I think the depression is a bit better it’s the GAD and the constant need to be thinking and doing that is so hard.
How long does it really take for the body to adjust to Trintellix abs get rid of the anxiety and obsessiveness? Not depressed just anxious...

Usually the first few weeks are the worst, but after two weeks it should really start getting much better. If it persists longer than that and is severe let your doctor know.
Try not to worry too much about anxiety... it's a vicious cycle and you can often make yourself worse than you really are. I know... easier said than done... but try to focus on small improvements instead.
Thank you. You are doing great work by supporting people with mood disorders. I have always been impatient and I am sick of taking clonazepam to calm the anxiety (2 years) as I am afraid it is hurting my memory and concentration.
Thanks again for your kindness.
Be welll!
