Do I need to gradually decrease Lyrica, then gradually increase Neurontin? I have taken both in the past. Lyrica works much better for me but I can't handle the cost right now, maybe after I have met my deductible.
Can I switch directly from Lyrica to gabapentin?

I would suggest slowly adding one while decreasing the other monthly.. perhaps by 25 percent..if this shows to be too much lower it to 15 percent..at which point you may have to have your pharmacist compound a Lyrica liquid..if it is not available commercially. Any more questions please feel free to contact me.Good luck. R.
There is cross tolerance between Lyrica and Gabapentin. Meaning that if you go on a high dose of lyrica you should be able to tolerate a high dose of Gabapentin.
Taking these two drugs together may increase the side effects! Be careful if you’re taking both. Watch out for dizziness, drowsiness, confusion and difficulties making decisions. Best wishes
