I can't fall sleep and if I do I wake up every 2 hours.I am exhausted by 7am when I have to go to work.I take it at 8am.I exercise and eat well.I read Ativan is addictive and others are not safe with this SSRI.
What sleeping pill is compatible with Citalopram 20mg am.I have insomnia side effect?

I hope a Psychiatrist is prescribing the anti-depressant for you. My shrink gives me Klonopin for anxiety and panic as its long acting. He wont give me any other benzodiazapines. For sleep, he discontinued the Xanax and told me no more benzos that ate short acting, like Ativan or Xanax or Valium. For sleep, he advised Atarax or up to 100 mg of Benadryl every night.
I took the Benadryl and slept like a baby, woke up with no drug hangover. I was amazed. And after a few days was able to decrease the amount of Benadryl and still slept. I was a hopeless insomniac, for years I didn't sleep. Its great to be able to sleep.
So talk to your shrink about non addicting antihistamines. They are great and don't have any bad reaction to SSRI's.

GREAT info li'l hippie! I agree, benadryl will help almost everyone to sleep comfortably and keep them asleep.
