Dear rayannaj... nothing at all will really happen. The buprenorphine in the subutex has a much higher affinity for the opiate receptor site so it will stay stuck on and basically will kick the Percocet off. You would need to take a ton of percocets to achieve any effect at all... like around 200 mg. if you stay off the sub for 48-72 hrs. You will then start to feel the effects of the Percocet but u might have to take 2-3 pills instead of the prescribed amount.
I recently had a surgical procedure and this is what my doc told me and had me do. I was prescribed Lortabs 7.5/500. It took a full 48 hrs off the sub for me to feel the effects of the pain pills. In the interim 800 mg ibuprofen works well on tooth pain. Also Toradol is another option. It can b harsh on the tummy, therefore you can only take it for 5 days in a row. But it has the efficacy of morphine. It is an NSAID of the cox-1 type.
Be careful when taking the Percocet after being off the sub. Once u start to feel the opiate buzz again it can be very dangerous for you. Please let someone in your support system know that you have these pills in your possession... like your sponsor or your doc or your addiction counselor... this helps you stay accountable.
Good luck and I hope you feel better soon... pup
I am confused. I thought Subutex didn't contain the opiate blocker like Suboxone does. Naloxone? Not sure about that. Can you explain this to me. I know next to nothing about subs but thought that was the difference between Subutex and Suboxone. Thanks for clearing this up for me. Inquiring minds want to know.

Terri... it doesn't really matter whether either subutex or suboxone has naloxone in it. The naloxone has absolutely no effect when we take it the way that we do. The only reason that the suboxone has naloxone in it is to prevent IV drug abuses from melting it and then shooting it up. They would go into immediate withdrawal and be very sick.
When we take the naloxone under our tongues it has to pass through the liver first (called the first pass effect). The liver then metabolizes the naloxone and renders it inactive. When taken IV by say melting it down and shooting up it bypasses the liver and has an immediate effect at the receptor site level of blocking opiates.
Does this help you dear tic in Dallas.
Are you a Texan by birth? I was born in Texas and lived there for 29 yrs. I am now in Florida... always a Texan at heart!!! I have a brother in Allen and other relatives in Plano. Small world!!! Be well... pup
Thanks sweet pup for explaining that to me. I feel like such a dummy about these things sometimes. I am learning so much from being here and interacting with all my new friends. I know a lot about the medical conditions that plague me but that's only because I've had to be my own advocate. In some cases I wouldn't still be here if I hadn't diagnosed my own problems. Will have to tell you that story sometime. I swear I could write a best seller. Ha!
As far as being a Texan - why yes ma'am, born and raised. I live in a small town south of Fort Worth where I have raised 2 boys and have the sweetest daughter in the world in high school now. I love being a Texan but the older I get the more the 100+ degree weather REALLY gets to me. My hubby and I are always talking about retiring to Florida or Colorado. It would be very hard indeed though. I am a hard-core southern/country girl.
I love living in the "country" while being 30 mins from Fort Worth and 45 mins from Dallas. Best of both worlds and all that. Hey, if you're ever in this neck of the woods visiting family we should get together and have lunch.
Take care sweetie and here's a big Texas hug for you. ((((pup)))) Your friend -Terri-
U r welcome dear Terri. Helping each other is what it is all about. We all learn from each other.
I lived n Fort Worth for one year. Worked at John Petersmith which was quite enlightening!!
Yes I agree w/ u re heat n Texas during summer. Stifling. Florida is actually better n the summer although still very hot. I have personally also thought about summering n Colorado!! It is beautiful n the summer.
If I am ever n your area I will def b n touch.
Have a good day... lv pup
Well if you worked at JPS my respect for you just went up astronomically. I've only had the "pleasure" of being there a couple of times and both were for or with someone else. They have great doctors and nurses there but it is a mad-house to put it mildly. That being said my sister was in a near-fatal accident, was care-flighted there and they saved her life. It's a great trauma hospital but if you have to go there for general care you'd better take your toothbrush. I guess that's how it is at most county hospitals though. When my sister was in ICU there I spent several nights in the little cubicles outside ICU and the 1st night I woke up with a homeless guy standing over the top of me trying to take my blanket. He swore it was his even though I brought it from home. So I know what you mean for that was quite an experience for me. I haven't ever been to Parkland in Dallas but have heard horror stories.
Anyway sweetie I hope you are having a wonderful holiday season. You are such a blessing and I appreciate all you do!!
Love and hugs -Terri-
Thanks Terri. U r also a blessing. Am leaving for texas tmoro for Christmas with my wonderful family. I hope u have a very merry Christmas. I will probably not b here much while I am gone. Will TTY when I get back. Stay well. Lv pup

Dittos sweet Terri... I am pulling an all nighter as I have to leave for the airport at 4:15 am. I have a 6:15 flight. I must have been insane when I made these reservations!!!
Merry merry Christmas... lv, pup
FINALLY, somebody with some brains!! THANK YOU!!
Actually you can take opiates immediately after taking sub ozone but you won't feel effects of opiate for at least three days. At least this was my experience. Precipitated withdraws occur if you take subpoena too soon after consistent use of opiates not the other way around
With Subox in your system, I would definitely wait until you start to go into significant detox (48~72 hrs) before taking another opiate, or you'll go into the seriously uncomfortable precipitated withdrawal symtoms, or rapid onset detox... not comfy. Good luck!
