I have been on nivolumab for almost a year. I have terrible stabbing back pain and rib pain and I went to emergency room twice thus far to try to figure out the problem and rule out other things.
I had mRCC and was on Opdivo for almost full 3 years and been off little over 3 years. Within the first 6 weeks the nodules began to disappear. Two PET scans have shown no cancer and none of the CT scans have shown any reoccurance. My side effects were: became Type 1 diabetic, hypothyroidism and vitiligo; these you can live with. I don't believe anyone knows how long one can survive after treatment... but I am still here!
Just joined group saw your question I finished my opdivo in Feb.2019 had side affects , some memory loss , back aches . I had a few more side affects I made 8months before my oncologist took me off . I’m four years past it all now . Had four pet scans I’m still cancer free . I would say it was worth the fight . Just had a new Granddaughter and I’m still here to watch her grow up . Have faith don’t give up the fight .
