What is the difference? I have been on Aciphex for years. Take one hour before any other medications or eating in the morning. Absolutely no problems. Insurance company now wanted to change so have been given Generic Omerazole DR 40 mg. Take the same way, but have noticed shaking, nauesa, headaches. Can this be taken with food? What about other medications?

Omeprazole, like Aciphex, decreases the amount of acid produced in the stomach. Omeprazole is usually taken before eating so you can take it in the same way as you took Aciphex.
If the nausea, shaking etc continue you should see your doctor again. There are other medications that you can try.
