I've had the nexplanon for nearly a year, and recently i've started to get my period that will last up to 2 weeks. Each time it stops and my boyfriend and i have sex I start bleeding again almost straight away. Is this normal? Why is it happening?

December 2019, I'm having the same issue. Looking for answers
The two things are only linked in as much as the blood is already sitting ready to come away, & the sexual intercourse disturbs it, so it comes away soon after.
This kind of bleeding is common with the Implant & many other forms of artificial hormonal contraception. I got tired of it & gave up after a year of it on the Implant. It just didn't suit me.
Your doctor may be able to give you more artificial hormones to try to counteract it. If that's something you want to put your body through. It's a very personal decision.
You may want to talk to your doctor, anyway, to ensure nothing else could be causing your bleeding. I expect the Implant is to blame, though.
I've had my implant for 7 months, and had a constant period for 4. After that 4 months I'm bleeding after sex. It was basically as soon as that 4 months was up. And it takes anywhere from 3 days to a couple of weeks to start bleeding.. is this normal? Can someone help?
This is my 2nd time on the nexplanon.removed and replaced.. First year to 2 years on nexplanon i had bleeding up untill my 3rd year on it. Now i got the replacement had it since april 2017 now every now and then i bleed after intercourse
Has the bleeding after sex stopped yet? I just got my nexplanon about a month ago and I had my period for 2 weeks when it was over tried to have sex and started bleeding.
It has, it was on and off for a while but has stopped for just over a month now. When I first got it it went on for about 2 months and stopped for quite a while.
I've been on Nexplanon for 4 years and I've never gotten a period while on it.
This is normal. Bleeding at irregular times and amounts is not unusual.
