Have been on lyrica for 4 and a half years due to peripheral neuropathy in my feet 24/7 and was wondering if lyrica can be an issue with lowering sexual desires. I am a married woman. Have been taking 300mg. daily I'm not over weight and am not diabetic.
Can lyrica lower your sexual drive?

I don't take that much but it makes sense. If lyrica alters the sensation (and I'm assuming pain is in your feet and legs) it could alter the sensation there as well. It makes it difficult to have an orgasm. So I hate it. Only take it prn. ACCUPUNCTURE helps me. It's the best thing. I'm appealing the amount of times I can do it. It helps during the treatment. It's a miracle.
I took Acupuncture treatments for 6 months on a weekly basis. It did not help
me at all. Also I recently found out that Prednisone lowers the desire and ability to have sex. So that another drug that I'm up against.!
Prednisone is a dangerous drug and should be taken on the notion that the "benefit outweighs the risks". I've never heard it given for nerve illness. Just respiratory, arthritis, sepsis and adrenal gland problems. I would resist it that's for sure. Makes your blood sugar higher!
Actually Prednisone was prescribed for something else, not for nerve pain. I started with 1000mg but am down to 2mg daily and soon I hope to be off of it
completely, Gained a lot of weight but have lost most of it now. Its a very drug,
saved my life, but it has a lot of bad side effects.
