About 6 weeks ago I reduced Latuda from 40 to 20mg because when my dr’s samples run out I will not be able to afford The copay. Since I reduced it my depression has become unbearable, almost worse than before I started taking it. My anxiety is 10 X worse. How long will this last?

This would be an excellent time to ask your pharmacist about drugs with similar properties because your pharmacist would know all about cost, mg and coverage. Usually my pharmacist calls or faxes my doctor and explains I cannot afford it and suggest alternatives. 99% of the time my doctor will fax the new recommended prescription and you are free to try it.
Hi, nic! We can't post links on this site but you can Google "Latuda withdrawal mental health daily" for an article that goes into a lot of detail.
What you're experiencing is rebound symptoms and I understand exactly what you're going through. I can't possibly afford my Medicare co-pay and am relying on my Psychiatrist's ability to continue getting samples from the Sunovion rep. It has been working so well for me and I worry constantly about having to stop it.
If you have enough of a supply that you can taper down gradually the discontinuation is said to be not so bad. Has your doctor discussed other options with you?
I wish you all the best and hope you are feeling better soon.
I’ve read mental health daily several times and it’s not very encouraging. Says it may be “months”. No one I know understands depression; much less the literally unbearable depression I’m going through. Psychiatrist said “just stop taking ; shouldn’t have any withdrawals “””. How do you argue with stupid? It is literally unbearable. I’ve started exercising bc therapist said it’s “the answer “”. Hasn’t helped me yet. I wish I had never started Latuda. Nothing good has come from it. I could write more but this is a public site. Thanx
Does anyone have any advice on how to get through unbearable depression when it physically hurts to be alive?
Hi, try finding a good church family. Read the book Battle Field of the Mind by Joyce Meyer. That book is a life changer! Find that light at the end of the tunnel. Get inspired by being around good people. God loves you and will never give up on you. I will say a prayer for you. Hope you feel better soon!
I recently had ECT and that is how I was able to reduce the Latuda. During ECT I also found I didn’t need as much Ativan so I reduced it also. It’s been over a month since ECT and my anxiety is severe. I’m wondering if it’s bc I dropped Latuda and Ativan same time.

Maybe you could do another ECT?
The website didn’t really say How Long Latuda withdrawals last??
I’m at 1 month now and it’s unbearable. Im on medications and I’ve asked my pharmacist.
The withdrawal is not too bad?? Rebound symptoms?? They tried that crap on me. Told me I had “rebound anxiety” when I actually have Akathisia from being ripped off multiple meds. Your other comment about there not being a Latuda Discontinuation Syndrome is false btw and the chemical imbalance thing is a myth.
Are you in the U. S.? Did you try to sign up for their $15 copay program? So sorry tour depression and anxiety has worsened.
I don’t qualify for the $15 co pay program.
