I’ve been taking 20 mg of Latuda for 1 month. To my understanding, Latuda doesn’t absorb into your system unless taken with food. I tried taking it with dinner but I get way too sleepy and drowsy and end up falling asleep much earlier than intended (I have issues with hypersomnia so staying awake is already a challenge). I often wake up in the middle of the night with bad acid reflux due to sleeping right after eating. I read that it should be taken with at least 350 calories but I’m hesitant to eat right before bed because I’ll get acid reflux and probably gain weight. I’m okay with snacking on fruit before bed, but I end up at 150 calories or less. Will the Latuda only partially absorb since I’m under 1/2 of the recommended caloric intake? Will the sleepiness and drowsiness go away the longer I take it?
Does Latuda have to be taken with 350 calories?

Is there an actual study that says the medication works better or whatever they are claiming? Can they prove this? Watch out for Akathisia.
Yeah you unfortunately have to take at least 350. It’s is possible that the drowsiness will get better. However it will never go away if you are only sometimes meeting the calorie goal because the blood levels won’t be consistent.
Also I had to take omeprazole for the first six months on Latuda and then the acid reflux eventually went away. You could try getting a wedge pillow?
