My Insurance doesn't cover Saxenda but I would really like to try it but I can't afford the $1200 per month for the cost of the medication. I have tried every weight loss program / pill without successful results. I have also tried to appeal to the insurance company without results. Any thoughts on how to get this drug cheaper??? My provider also doesn't have samples.
What to do when your insurance won't cover Saxenda and you can't afford $1200 per month?

Smart @ss..
with heart condition and being over weight and having tried many prescription drugs for weight los, my doctor recommended saxenda. my medicare and secondary insurance will not cover this expensive drug approx 21K per year. if there any grants available for this drug??
My doctor has decided to have me pick up a prescription for generic Xenical, then come back in 2 weeks and she will write in her notes that it's not working. Then she will try to get Wygobe covered by saying it's for diabetes. That might work because I was formerly diabetic but I lost some weight and got off my metformin. I don't know if this idea will help you but maybe it will. If not maybe someone else on here will have another idea that could work. I'm a retired pharmacist and I just think health insurance is a pain in the neck. Unfortunately it's a necessary evil that we all need to have.
I'm so tired of hearing people say that military and retired military and tell families get all their health care for free. That's just not true. The only care we aren't charged for is service connected medical care for my husband from the VA. Even then the VA tries to charge Tricare military insurance for his VA care. It's true before Obummercare passed our prescription copays were $2 and $5. But now they have gone way up. They are either $14, $38, or $68 dollars and are scheduled to go up every year. In 4 more years some of our brand copays will cost us $85 and climbing.
I really think military folks and their families have been sold out by the generals and admirals who work at the Pentagon. They all make so much money that copay increases are no big deal to them. All the generals and admirals make between $150,000 and $200,000 a year. They don't know and don't understand and just plain don't care how the rest of the lower ranking military and their families live nowadays. And with Medicare premiums increasing every year and inflation and the cost of living going up every year, what little retired pay increases my husband gets are eaten up by increased copays for needed medical care and prescriptions and inflation and the cost of living increases. Retired pay already and increases by at least 1 percent behind the cost of living so we get further and further behind every year.
Anyway I hope my answer and my doctor's ideas will help me and someone else too.
My insurance will not cover any weight loss medications. I can not afford to pay for this prescription. Can I get any help with this please.
What city in Canada is Mark's Marine Pharmacy located in? Does anyone here have their phone number or website address? Thank you. My health insurance company rejected coverage after waiting around wasting over 2 weeks of my time. I needed a prompt a answer because I need to have surgery for a hernia within a few months and the surgeon would like for me to lose some weight first. My insurance company wants to try 4 other drugs first. I've tried 1 of the drugs already and it didn't help at all. I think the other 3 drugs may interact with my depression medicine. So my primary care doctor might want to prescribe Saxenda anyway. I think my doctor will try to talk to the insurance company again and explain my depression medicine will probably interact badly with all the other medicines the insurance company wants me to try before they will agree to !et me try Saxenda and pay some of the costs.

Can't change the circumstances
My doctor allowed me to use Saxenda sample and next is prescribing me Victoza ( exact same med ) which is in smaller doses. I cant Pay the $1400 a month for Saxenda.
I’ve lost 16lbs with the sample. Virtually no bad side effects and lost strong urge to eat unhealthily ( especially evenings). Also, I’ve been walking lots. Doctor said I am losing quicker than most . She said typically people lose about 8 lbs the first couple weeks.
Thank God my doctor is getting samples for me because my insurance won't cover the 1200 dollars. I call her each time I start my last pen and she calls me when it comes in. I get three samples at a time. I am currently on my 2nd set of samples and have lost 40lbs. Maybe it would help to speak to your doctor about getting more samples for you.
My insurance want cover Saxenda and I desperately needs to lose weight. I cannot afford 1200 with the savings card for this medication. I want to try Marks Marine Pharmacy but just was trying to see how anyone else is doing with this medication from Marks Marine Pharmacy. Thanks so much
It is a shame because it does work to help lose weight I have tried everything under the sun and I have gotten nowhere I have written to the company and do you know what they sent me two different times a plate plastic with three sections of the amount of food you’re supposed to eat each day as far as I’m concerned you know what they could do with their drug
I asked my doctor about Victoza, but insurance won’t cover it unless your A1C is high. Since my A1C is good, I can’t get that either.
I currently was prescribed Saxenda for my on going weight gain. I can't afford the prescription as my insurance company will not cover the drug that I need since I keep gaining weight uncontrollably.
