I have had issues with trying to control sleep for many years. Taking 1.5 milligrams of Ativan before bedtime helps me sleep for about 5 hours. I am also on Paxil now waiting for the 30 milligrams to kick in. How long can I take this Ativan for help with my sleep . Not knowing causes more anxiety and fear that I won't have it to help me sleep. Basically, I am 55 years old and just started taking this Ativan. , How long can I continue to take Ativan and night time to help me sleep? Thank you

I had a rough childhood and have never been able to sleep more than 2-3 hours. I take Xanax to help me sleep, but it’s still rare for me to sleep longer. I’ve been though a sleep clinic where they tried about 5 drugs on me, and nothing worked. I think at certain phases in our lives were just not wired to sleep better. I think it’s just a phase and hopefully it will pass.
