Question posted by Mohomar on 21 Sep 2025
Medical greetings
I have been taking Zylax 20 mg (escitalopram) and Effexor 75 mg for the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder and anxiety for a month.
I read that after the medication is absorbed into the bloodstream, some of it is secreted into the saliva via the salivary glands.
My question is: does the medication in my saliva pose a risk to children if they come into contact with my saliva in any way?
Thank you.
