Ols76; There is not really a problem with these two medications at the same time they are prescribed like this very often. Good luck
I used to take Gabapentin for nerve pain. I was told to take it at night, Dr said it would make me sleepy but it never did. Being a nervous wreck with Anxiety Disorder, I take 8mg clonazepam every night for sleep and had been for several years until I was in a car accident that gave me a compound fracture of my lower leg bones. I needed not just normal pain meds but nerve pain meds as well - which is what Gabapentin is for - with the benefit for many of drowsiness. I quit the Gabapentin because of side effects. I have heard, though, that Gab can be effective with sleep depending on tolerance. I don't think it's THAT strange of a combination, given what I've experienced. I'm thinking maybe the Clonazepam was for anxiety and sleep and Gabapentin was to add to the sleep factor. I've not heard of Gab for anxiety before. Klonopin, yes.
I take both of them. Gabapentin made me sleepy the First day I took it only. Doesn't do anything for me sleepwise. I actually take 900mg of it in the morning.
