I use three fentanyl patches to help control chronic pain 100 mcg and two 50 mcg for a total of 200 mcg. I broke my neck and back when a RPG hit my vehicle while I was over seas. I am having two problems 1. keeping the patches on. 2. Getting the patch to work for 72 hours. I was wondering where on your body is the best place to put them to eliminate the two problems I mentioned above. I have been using my upper back and shoulders I'm wondering if there is a better place to apply them. After 48 hours I noticed that the patches get very cloudy and I start to have withdraws as well as my pain level starts to rise. With my Dr's.approval I have started to replaced them every 48 hours, which is fine but my insurance will not pay for more patches since I'm going through them quicker than what the manufacturer says. Within 2 to 4 hours (give or take) after replacing the cloudy patches the withdrawal symptoms start to subside and my pain level starts to drop. If anyone else is having similar problems and you were able to find a way to get them to stay on for 72 hours as well as continue to give you pain relief. I would be most appreciative if you would kindly share.
Thank you

Ask the manufacturer for some additional clear patches that go overtop of the fentanyl patch because they are not adhering properly. They will send you a bunch for free. Also, try putting the patch on your upper arm. Or back of shoulder - which ever sweats the least. Hope this helps.
Unfortunately, the higher the dose, the more your body becomes resistant. Fentanyl was created as a pain medication for people that were dying. It really wasn’t created to manage pain in the long term. As for keeping the patches on, I had the same issue when I was on them. I applied on my breast and they were kept in place with a sports bra. I was only on 50mcg and it took me a month to ween myself off of them and the withdrawals were a nightmare. Do you take Turmeric? If not, you should find a good turmeric supplement and be sure it contains black pepper, as pepper helps your body absorb the turmeric. My other piece of advice is to find a good magnesium supplement and take at least 500mgs per day. It’s really a miracle what those 2 things can do. Good luck!
