I started Effexor 37.5mg two days ago and I cannot stay awake. I take it at 4:30pm and sleep for hours and hours. I’m totally exhausted. Does this go away as my body adjusts to the medication?

Hi, JOSTRI!
For most people side effects generally only last for a few days to a week or so. Your doctor has wisely started you on a low initial dose so your metabolism should adjust fairly quickly.
If it persists let your doctor know so they can give you professional advice.
Thank you so much. I really need support with this journey. I’m still sleepy and it’s time to take the next dose.
It's sometimes a little tough in the beginning but it'll get better! Hang in there!
I’m trying. It’s a battle. I cannot stay awake.

Let your doctor know... perhaps they can lower your dose temporarily. But they also might say to give it a little more time to resolve.
Thank you so much for your response and support. I appreciate you.
