I have been taking 15mg of Diazepam for the last 8 years. I really don't take it every day. I take 2 To 3 times a week. It is the only med which helps my spasms. I do take Ativan, low doses for my sleep and anxiety on needed basis. I never had any problems. Ativan is a wonder drug like Diazepam. I am 61 years old educated man. Believe me, there are no side effects...
I take benzodiazepines for panic attacks.
The Ativan helps more w/the nausea and the Valium helps more w/ the back spasms.
What to do?
Is one stronger than the other?
Both drugs should not be used at the same time as dangerous side effects can occur. Both drugs are used for the same reasons, diazepam is better for alcohol withdrawals while lorazepam is better for anxiety. Neither one should be considered for any thing other that short term use as both are highly addictive.
No. The best drug for alcohol withdrawal is Librium. This was the first benzo to come out on the market back in 1960.
No you can't take them together. You could stop your breathing that way. I'll let others answer the rest, I've never taken either.
