I get my Depo shot every 3 months at the clinic. I happened to go on vacation the whole week I was supposed to get my refill, so I had my boyfriend do it in my butt cheek. I think he was scared to hurt me and didn’t do it deep enough, I barely felt it and it’s not sore like it usually is. The needle was all the way in but i think the angle was wrong. It’s not that big of a deal, we’ll just be safe, but should I talk to my doctor? Is there a different BC method I can use while having some Depo in my system or can I get a second shot if it didn’t work?

The shot needs to be deep in the muscle, where it creates a pool of oil based liquid, that is released gradually, over the 3 months. If there's any doubt that this was the case, you'll need to discuss it with your doctor. They'll probably examine you to assess where he put the shot, & what to do.
