I'm not sure exactly what you're asking. Do you mean are the pills safe as far as not being toxic or not effective because they're old? Or do you mean you've been taking them for years and they're not doing the job?
If that's it, the medication may be "pooping out" on you. That happens fairly commonly with long term use. What dose are you taking and for how long? If you're on a lower dose you might ask your doctor about upping the dosage or maybe adding on a booster medication like Abilify or Rexulti. Another option would be switching to a different medication.
