I have tried various drugs and doses I am currently on 30mg of citalopram but still get quite anxious and depressed at times.Should I go up to 40mg or try something different? Thank you.

How long have you been taking the citalopram? 20~40mg/day is the recommended dosage so you do have a little wiggle room there.
I agree with masso and I think you should tell your doctor exactly what you've said here and get their professional advice.
