I woke up the other day with a softball in my mouth, lol!!! I got an infection i guess bc i have a few rotten teeth in mouth, created prob frum the drug use over ten years... ouchy!! So i went to the dentist, he gave me sum vikes, ( which i didnt take, due to the fact, I have the sub in me, in would just be a waste, and well it could kill me also... taking the two together scares me a lil too much) and the antibiotics... I have been taking them now for four days, and my mouth is still swollen up, hurts and just sux. So thats my question i guess also, bc i have taken the sub, does that over power everything, n I just wastes what I have taken so far... thx to any and all who may be able to help.

My friend
you need to contact the dentist, You most likely need to finish a full course of antibiotics, once you describe this to him he may want to start you on a different antibiotic, I wonder have you only taken 4 days of the antibiotic and then stopped it? either way I think the best thing you can do since you still have the swelling and other symptoms, I don't think the suboxone would have anything to do with the antibiotic but please be sure and tell him so that he can make an informed decision, because you may still be dealing with an infection that is not cleared up and may need something different. You take good care!!
Thank you very much, i do appreciate the answers and help... But no, I am still taking the antibiotics... I believe its a 12 day script worth. 4 a day or sumthing... I just feared they were not working bc of the sub is all. I will call the dentist in the mornig tho and see what else he can do... I have two scheduled dates to get s few teeth removed, so hopefully that will help as well. again, thx for ur concern and answers
thats fine I am just concerned about you and wanted to make sure you had more than just 4 days of the antibiotic, sometimes it takes a 10 day course in order to treat something like this, I saw where Patti had answered and I thought you would be fine with the suboxone but I want you to be the best you can be take care and get to feeling better
Your antibiotics should still work. You can also take some advil for the pain and swelling in the mouth. There is a mouth rinse available at the drug store that also might help, it is called Biotene, it contains NO alcohol, it has enzymes in it. Hope you get to feeling better very soon.
I have done the warm salt water mouth rinse and that is seeming to help at times... I cant smile very big, or laugh for long periods before it hurts... but I gota thank u, your thoughts and concerns are very helpful and appreciative..
I seriously just posted this question maybe only twenty minute ago... This website is so helpful and fast, i can even put the rest into words... I thank u one and all once again for the help on my issues and this matter... God bless you... :)
Not always fast, I am now off subs and I actually did get more info than most patients, didn't realize it at the time. I learned alot here too. Hope things get better, I chipped a molar recently, have no insurance, thankfully it doesn't hurt much... yet.
Well i was just meaning this website in general was very fast... I post a question or concern, and within an hours time, I have several responses... I thank you again pattinhan61, your comments and answers are extremely helpful and appreciative... Good to hear also that ur no longer on the subs..unless I read that wrong, idk, lol... And yes i have to agree, I get more information thru this than I most doctors offices etc... sumtimes i do an extra search on sum of the crazy things i hear or read about, but on most cases, everyone is very respectful and honest bc they have had the same personal issues before... Hope ur cracked tooth doesnt casue u any problems, i know all to well the pain and suffering behind that. So... best wishes and luck to u and urz again, and thx again... your the bestest... take care hun... and stay safe... :) :)
Thanks Joe, I appreciate the kind thoughts.
