My daughter has had drug issues in the past and she suffers from severe anxiety disorder. I do not want to put her on benzo meds as Iam told it will make her relapse, so I need to find a strong alternative. Please help me, I hate to watch her suffer.

Hello dwith62. I suggest you ask your daughters physician to prescribe Paroxetine. It is used for a variety of diagnosis, and in regards to the treatment for anxiety, as well as post traumatic stress disorder, given the severity, is effective in the treatment of. The drug carries side effects and will if stopped abruptly, without a taper, cause possible serious side effects. Unlike a benzodiazepine, being a SSRI, the addictive nature (mental/physical) of the drug is limited, although it can be present and a factor.
