I've been prescribed Percocet 10/325 for chronic pain. My question is I have to decide between Watson or Endo. Has anyone ever been given either of these two brands. Which works better? Thanks. I welcome all comments.

I liked Watson, and still liked Actavis after they bought out Watson. Now I've had to change pharmacies because BCBS Oklahoma dropped Walgreens. I now have to go to CVS. Their brand is not as good, I noticed it right away. I believe it has a U17 stamp. So now I'm stuck here, so may as well try to get used to this one.
If you have a SAM'S Club or COSTCO Warehouse in your town you do not have to be a member to use their pharmacy's !! They are cheaper too !!
Hi guys, I live in nj and I been since back surgery on percocet 10/325 and in reality the best is the yellows endo/percocet 10/325 for any pain... the best and trust me when I say this because I tried them all..try to see a pharmacy that can get them and you won't regret it... I been on them for over 5 years now and in my opinion they are the best
I tried most of them and have found Endocet to be the best by far for pain . second choice would be Watson/ Actavis marked A333 for pain, the worse is Chamber brand yellow marked t-194 they do not work at all for me and more pharmacies are using them because it is cheaper for them to buy and they make more money when they sell them. Does anyone know of a brand that is good and works.
Good luck everyone we are all in the same boat.
Watson is no longer Watson as it was bought out by Actavis !! However I use their Fentanyl patches and have used their oxcycodone 10/325's in the past and wish that I knew a pharmacy that carried them here where I live !! Many of the generics are good but I have had a couple that did not seem to work quick enough or last long enough !! It's trial and error my friend !! God bless you !!
The best is endo. They have really messed up these percocets. They are like taking nothing.
I like Watson meds and they have never let me down !! I will only use their FENTANYL patches !!! I have been a chronic pain patient for 30 years now starting at age 25 !! I did have a 29 year career in Finance but it finally got to a point I could no longer sit at my desk , walk far or work 16 hour days any longer so I retired and of course am on Disability but I could have been on that 15 years earlier but I made way too much money to stop working so they kept me drugged up so I could keep going !! he best thing is to have a great pain management doctor !!! God bless you InnerSpirit !!!
Watson was bought out by another company, and is no more.
ACTAVIS bought out WATSON but the meds have not changed just the name !! God bless !!!
I have been on Norco 10 mg for a few years now and will be getting a stimulant implant in the fall. I only use Watson brand - even generic Watson is good but no other Norco works as well. Now my doc gave me percocet and I'm not sure which mfg to request as I've never had this before and I'm terrified to change meds! I don't want to be bed ridden... Anyhow - I've seen all the posts about Watson being sold but I am still able to get name brand Watson?? They still have it ready for me every month though there have been a few times where I've had to FIND a pharmacy to fill it b/c they didn't have the full quantity. But they still fill it so how can that be if they no longer make Watson pills??? And can I get Watson brand percocet?? If not what other one should I request?
I am sure that they are still dispensing what is left in the company's inventory with the WATSON packaging on them !! Just recently my WATSON Fentanyl patches started having Actavis on the packaging and it is the exact same boxes , coloring and everything that WATSON had theirs packaged in !! WATSON is no longer active and Actavis bought them out for a fact !!
I agree with what's being said I have had the IP 204 percocet and they are trash the yellow endo oxycodone 10 325 is the best from my experience does anyone know where to get those in Ohio please help I appreciate all your advice
You may have learned this by now, but there are no more Watson pills. Watson was bought by Actavis, and they discontinued the Watson formulation of oxycodone pills since they already had one.
I agree they are much better you can find them at Publix Pharmacies.
You can do what I do and call each pharmacy in your area and they will be glad to tell you who makes their generics !!!
I totallt agree with you bigpapapump about the ip 204 percocets!! Freaking garbage man smh... The best ones I've had by far are the oval shaped ones that has a333 on em. By Walgreens not accepting my insurance i cannot go to them, and they are the only ones who carry those. I feel like osco played me today by giving me these generic ass pills. Total difference between these and the other ones
Endocet is very hard to find outside pa.if u are close to state line, weis market pharmacy carries them worth the trip.
I've been on IP204 for years and in fact, it's the only thing I will use and the pharmacist orders them for me. I have an extremely high tolerance, been on them for seven years, to say IP204 is trash is just utterly ridiculous.
I also agree that the IP 204's are far better than any of the others. And because Watson has change their name or merged with someone else they're very hard to find. I deafly no my medication and I definitely know that this is the only one of the Percocets, that are generic that work at all... The other ones (all the white ones) make me sick and give me a terrible headache...
Hi what is the brand name again? Because I've been on 7.5 for 3 years and it used to be Watson I do great how active is not so good anymore. Can you tell me the name because I go to my doctor on Friday and I'm going to see if you can give me either brand or what you're talking about. So do I just tell him it's called IP204?
The company has started making a new Percocet or oxycodone
In white pill form. They absolutely do NOT work and they claim the only difference is the color. The pharmaceutical companies should personally have their own pain in form of multiple ruptured discs in multiple places and then tell the public they are 100% accurate and the exact same minus the color. It has diblitayed my life even with the RFA's. I have four children and four grandchildren and the depression is not from the medication. It is the lack of concern or care from the PHARMACEUTICAL ORGANIZATIONS DYING TO MAKE A BUCK. I pray if my family has to live with this for the remainder of my life they sue to truly determine the efficacy and the potency of their "so-called"
comparable medication. I assume they have no oath to do no harm. All while those unreal pain receive the dirty looks for mentioning the medication doesn't work. I have a background in medical devices in R&D and these companies such as Alvogen SHPULD BE ASHAMED! I was told by my pharmacy the organization was charging more for the same medication and because pharmacies order from the same
Warehouses to fill
Their orders this company began to make it impossible for pharmacies
To order what a needed as the cost was too high. Physicians are contracted through Insurance agency's ( as I am taking exams for licensure's) I believe the pharmaceutical organizations should be held to a MUCH HIGHER SCRUTINY AS PEOPLE WITH DELBITATING PAIN LIKE US SUFFER DUE TO THEIR LACK OF COMPASSION AS THE MEDICATION YOU NEED IA SITTING IN THEIR WAREHOUSES BECAUSE THEY WOULD LIKE TO EARN A FEW PENNIES. How many board members would take the non-acting medication should he or she find themselves in the Situation that we do. I call for stricter guidelines on how they are allowed to FIX THE MARKET! Yes I said it... we cannot act on a stock tip what about your health, quality of life as we've given it up to a paper pushing bottom line... we all should rise up and demand the medication that works provided we are willing to pay the e yea few. I was shocked when I was told I couldn't receive it even if I paid. Ive not been out of pain since!
( RESPONDING TO THIS QUESTION )Yes the 10/325 Percocets are stronger. But if you are going to be taking this medication on a regular basis or already are for whatever reason. The prolonged use of Percocets is not good for your liver due to the acetaminophen in it. So if your going to be on this medication for long term use, I would ask you doctor for 10mg Oxycodone tablets. Although the active ingredient in Percocets is Oxycodone, it's the acetaminophen that will do a number on your liver over time. The 10 mg Oxycodone tablet is just a 10/325mg Percocets, but no acetaminophen in it. It isn't stronger, just no acetaminophen. There are people out their that think 10/325 Percocet is stronger because of the numbers. But it's not. But always check with your doctor first. As far as ENDO & WATSON PHARMACEUTICAL LABORATORIES, they are just 2 other companies that make & distribute generic Percocet. Both are excellent in my opinion. I hope my knowledge was helpful to you. Have A Great Day.
I live in Ohio I am experiencing problems with my generic form of oxycodone 10 325 I have had the yellow endo 10 325 in the past they seem to work twice as good do you know where I can get those from what pharmacythanks for your help really thanks
Your pharmacist can order them for you if you tell your Dr. that is the only kind your system can tolerate.
The 10/325 is oxy w tylenol. That's what the 325 is, mgs of acetaminophen. That is Percocet, oxy + acetaminophen. Oxycodone is just oxycodone. I didn't read anything after the post I'm responding to so it's prob already been answered. Sorry if repeat
Def get the Watson,I've had Watson 10-325 Percocet for 6 years and its been by far the best for me. CVS has stopped carrying this brand. The last two months CVS has had Actavis and I've had severe headaches and my pain is out of control, its not helping me at all and making me very fatigued. I cannot find any pharm here in Ohio that carries the Watson anymore. My guess is too expensive? Consider yourself very lucky, In my experience the smaller, oval or dome shaped pills and,or softer powder like brands of Percocet donot work as well, if at all... as is the case "with Actavis". Take care & let me know if anyone has found and stuck with a manufacture of the Percocet 10-325 that works well.
Hi there, Thank you for your comment & you're correct about the Watson brand being the best. I have a few of watson's & some other oval shaped brand & the watson brand works so much better than the other one. I've been on it for 3 yrs. Again thank you and all that have answered. Innerspirit
the actavis Percocet also gives me bad headaches and does nothing for my back pain , I too can not find Watson have been using them for years and they worked . were can I find Watson ?
The Percs I take are oblong, they have an IP and a few numbers after that. I'm not sure who the manufacturer is, but I get them from Osco, the brand at Walgreens just doesn't work.
Actavis bought Watson out !!! That is why there is no more Watson !! I get the Watson / Actavis FENTANYL patches and they are the very best !!!
I'm in the same boat, and
need a brand that works esp for Percocet 10/325... Unfortunately, in January Actavis bought out Watson, and hundreds of other drug companies. Even my BP med, which was recently changed to puerpac, all of a sudden didn't work... Even if the current Percocet says Watson; it is not the same! When I found out my new BP med was also owned by Actavis i was not surpised. I currently take the Mallinkridot (sp?) brand of Percocet, which is better than Actavis, or new "Watson", however it is not as effective as the old round Watsons used to be. If anyone has found a brand that works, please share. I used to be able to break the old Watsons in half, and now 1 pill is barely as effective. Not from tolerance, rather manufacturer changes. Hope this info helps. Take care, and feedback appreciated on the most effective generic of Percocet 10-325. FYI the info on the Actavis buyout came from a pharmacist. Hang in there, and Thank You.
ACTAVIST bought out WATSON but the drugs are the exact same as with WATSON !!! God bless !!!
I have been on the new percocet v 4829 and it doesn't work. I was on the brand before it and had no problems. I have lupus and sjorgens and I know sometime these meds don't work for me I use more gabapentin cus this new percocet doesn't work for me. I need 2 and I get a headache from it. with all these new narcotic rules I hate to even tell them it doesn't work. I end up wo my pain meds 2 weeks early now. ugh the narcotics 10 works better then this new one. I feel so alone...
Actavis bought out Watson and I have found that they have not changed the meds all , like with my Fenyanyl patches !!! Even box is the same with different name on it !!! God bless each of you !!!
i get the a333 and I like em more than the v cuts I was getting the v cuts didn't last an hour where these last around four hours
Actavis fenanyl works great but the oxycodone is absolutely not the same.
Hi I have been taking oxycodone 7.5 for about 3 years now for irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea. I agree when Watson was doing the generic form it was fantastic controlled it had no problems whatsoever. Now I get a drug or a manufacturer called activist and I know that they bought out Watson. Milan Mallinckrodt they're all terrible. Does anybody have any advice at all when it comes to these drugs. I have a very good doctor but most are not willing to put you on for my condition but because I've had it all my life and I've been on everything else he was willing to try me on it and it's worth even though it's active if it does somewhat control it. Any information would be helpful thank you! Lisa
The best percocet i have found is a generic version with the imprint M523 on one side & 10/325 on the other. I honestly believe that these work better then the yellow round name brand ones.
ACTAVIS bought out WATSON !!!
There are very slight differences between manufacturers. Each contains the same active ingredients. In this case, those would be 10mg oxycoDONE and 325mg apap. The difference is the inactive ingredients or fillers. In rare cases, some people have a negative reaction to these fillers, so would want to find a mfg without that filler. Otherwise, the pills have the same strength and one should work as well as the other.
I know this is an older post, but just in case someone reads it. There is a difference between name brand meds and generics. By law, generics can contain up to 20% less or more of the active ingredient, in this case, oxycodone. There is also a big difference in manufacturers meds... IE: Actavis, formerly Watson, Percocet are not very good at all with more people having complaints than not! When Actavis bought Watson they changed their formulas. It has not been good for many people due to increased adverse reactions and decreased or no pain relief. Just thought I would add in what I know.
i agree with TracyT... but it seems like some generic companies are 50% lower on ingrediants... it all started within the last 6 months... anybody know how to go about getting the non generic brand name... this is terrible
I've been using Walgreen's generic Percocet for over 2 years, first Watson then Actavis brands. Very satisfied with both. Decided last week to use a mom & pop pharmacy nearer my new apartment, and got the brand Amneal. These are downright horrible! It feels like there is maybe HALF the Oxy in these as compared to the former brands! I'm taking 2 at a time to get the same relief as 1 of the Actavis! It's unbelievable that they can actually market this crap! I'll have to tough it out for 2 more weeks until I get another script... I'm darn sure going back to the Actavis brand!!
As to the question about trying to switch to a non-generic brand with your doctor... I was involved in a major car accident a few months ago and since then I have been in pain meds. In the past, I always seemed to like the Waston brand for pain pills such as Norco, way more than any kind. I was prescribed oxycodone, or Percocet, and when I picked it up from the pharmacy they were a generic small round white tablet with RP on one side, and 10/325 on the other. I called my doctors office after one day of having them and told them that I felt I was having a negative reaction and my pain was uncontrollable, and I had felt it was related to the fact it was a generic brand. By Monday I went back to my doctors office with the generic Percocet, and I physically destroyed them in the office, while he wrote me another prescription for a non-genric Percocet. When I filled that prescription, I received yellow oblong tablets with PERCOCET on one side, and 10/325 on the other.
I am way happier and more pain free than I have been since the accident. They do make me a lot sleepier than the generic Percocet, or any other Norco I've taken, but the pain relief is amazing. If you are having a negative reaction to a generic brand, tell your doctor immediately. If they do prescribe you a non-generic pain medicine, double check with the pharmacy because it is easily overlooked. Good luck!
By FDA regulations generic medications must contain the same exact amount of active ingredients. So they do not have less OxyContin or apap in them. I have found that breaking the activas 10/325 Percocet into several chunks makes it work better than taking it whole. If it's extended release however this should NOT be done they should be taken whole.
Tracy that is absolutely not true. Manufacturers of and narcotic have to EXACT in the amount they put into the medicine. They would be sued and no longer be a company if they put too much or too little and someone overdosed. This is all a placebo effect and in your head. There is NO difference in how much active ingredient narcotic (hydrocodone, Oxycodone, etc) Has to be exact the the 1/10th of a milligram. I work for one of these companies as a chemist, wont say which, and all companies who make these medications follow the exact same recipe. The only difference is in what you are calling "filler" and there are no fillers that would effect anyone adversely one way or another. All natural fillers and goes through your system basically like a piece if celery.
the only differences you are going to see are factors out side of the pill, like what time of day you take it, if you have an empty stomach, etc There are 100 reasons why you would feel it more at one point of one day and less the next. Please stop spreading false information based on a guess.
Have a nice day :)
Moby1kanob, Perhaps you need to stop spreading misinformation! The Hatch-Waxman act of 1984 passed by the FDA allows generic medications to differ by a +/- of 20% of the active ingredient of the name brand medication!! So the generic meds can differ from name brand by a ratio of 20% less or 20% more of the active ingredient as allowed by law, and let's face it; most contain lower on the scale, NOT higher! The generic meds not working as well as the name brand is NOT in anyone's head! The information I've given can be verified on google, and I personally had to switch to name brand Percocet in 2013 due to my pharmacy switching to useless Alvogen oxycodone; and name brand works like a dream for my pain!
I agree with Kitty and everyone else who said they have found a difference in generic brands. Way back in the 1960's & 70's the generics were virtually the same as the name brands. They had to be to convince the FDA as well as the US Congress to pass the laws allowing the generics to be used as they are today.
moby1kanob, I'm sorry but that's not true. Manufacturers do NOT have to have the same amount of the active ingredient. Of this is true then why does my Sandoz 100mcg, matrix (and sometimes Actavis formally Watson gel fent patch) have 10mg of fent in the WHOLE patch when another manufacturer (I believe Mallinkrodt but don't quote me has 7.5!? That's a huge difference. The no longer made Sandoz 100mcg gel patch had a whopping 15mg in the entire patch
Teva's generic Wellbutrin received thousands of complaints filed with the FDA over approximately 10 years before the FDA finally determined that it was not equivalent and yanked it and investigated other Wellbutrin generic manufacturers. Also when somebody has a negative reaction to a medication that's "all in their head", it's called the nosebo effect, not the placebo effect. Placebo refers to a positive reaction. I have never had a negative reaction to a generic, despite my knowledge about them until I took Alvogen brand oxycodone/apap-it took three pills to just about equal one. This was just today and the difference is glaring.
I take a dozen medications and have for years and all of them are generic except when only brand was available, I will always choose generics if available as they are generally trustworthy but they're not perfect It's been proven that changing from brand Lamictal to generic can cause a return to seizures in certain populations. One neurologist told me that a generic should not ever be used instead of brand if the patient started on brand and one friend had a seizure precisely because that is what happened. If the seizures are first controlled on a generic, then the manufacturer shouldn't be changed. However, epileptics can react to minute differences, it's not going to be a problem with your average generic. Pharmacies differ in their ability and willingness to provide specific generics. Getting brand is as simple as having the doc mark "as written" on the script-then you pay a crapload of money. I'm generally pro generic but I recognize that it's possible to react differently to them for whatever the reason and yes, fillers do make a difference. The only testing on generics is for bioequivalency and bioavailablily in a very small sampling of healthy people. The usual inspections and safety requirements are in place for them.
moby1kanob This is old so no one might read, but I must also disagree, and correct another statement that is false; that the fillers do nothing, and would just pass through your system like celery. The fillers can vary significantly, and often contain LACTOSE as a binder, which many people are intolerant to. So you might have stomach upset due to the binder, and not the drug. Ask the pharmacist to read the inactive ingredients for you, or look it up online for that specific generic brand. They may also contain gluten, cornstarch, and artificial colorings that are a real problem for those with allergies. So, heads up and do the research, it's worth knowing what those 'inert' ingredients are. (Incidentally, I knew someone who went into anaphylactic shock due to celery allergy.)
Thank you SO much for the replies to the so called" chemist" who needs to learn his trade.
Firstly... every human and animal, has their own unique biological make up so, therefore different and unique reactions to anything ingested or topically administered.
Secondly... Each Pharma uses a formula for the main ingredients compound like in Percocet... and legally, yes, they can go 20% under or over... obviously under is their cost effectiveness guideline.
Thirdly... each Pharma uses fillers... non disclosed ingredients used to bind, extract, cetc the compound ingredients.
Each company decides which filler to use by their own discretion. These fillers can have severe to no effects on the individual consuming the medication... depending on their bio make up, allergies, sensitivity issues and/or other meds in their systems.
Lactose is a primary "filler" used in many prescribed meds and not listed mostly. If you happen to be lactose intolerant, you will suffer greatly, as I have. It's the same physiological reaction as having a big bowl of ice cream, and I truly suffered for days after ingesting these generics for 3 days for severe Crohns pain.
It needs to be printed outwardly and mandated, on the prescription with warnings to the consumer of certain ingredients that are commonly an issue.
I would certainly ask your pharmacist FIRST for a list of all inert ingredients for each generic medication, to ensure you won't have an adverse, allergic or life threatening reaction to the medication. This can be especially vital to the elderly, severely allergic patient or one with compromising conditions, like cancer, or autoimmune issues.
So... speaking from a nurse's prospective who lost a patient to a "filler" ingredient, and a Crohns sufferer who needs to be careful, generics are NOT all the same, fillers must be identified and there are huge to slight differences in the ways medications are formulated. Be smart and know your facts..do your research and ASK before you purchase and ingest medications.
If anyone says that genetics can contain more/less of the active ingredient that is complete nonsense. Especially a narcotic med. If the brand has 10 mg of Oxy then the generic by law has 10 mg of Oxy. End of story.
To 'oderus66'
You realize the weight of the ENTIRE patch is irrelevant, right?
How did some of you make it this far in life without dying from pure stupidity, ill never know.
There is so much debate on wether there is a difference in the amount of active ingredient in the different generic brands that I couldn’t help but comment. As a registered pharmacy technician it is by law that the generic brands may contain up to 10% give or take less than the brand name and that is the way it is stated per the law. So people that think someone who has been on pain meds long term can’t tell a difference in brands hasn’t been on pain meds for any length of time. My mom was in a major car accident when I was 15 and I was told she wouldn’t live thru the night. She spent 73 days in the hospital. When she came home I had to feed her, bathe her, shave her legs, and wipe her butt when she went potty. It was a very humbling experience for both of us. She is the farthest thing from a dope head but due to major issues from the accident she will be on pain meds for life. And she can tell when she gets a different generic. They aren’t all equal and if you’ve been on them any length of time your body can tell. Just an FYI.
so great to read this! thank you. i've had a terrible allergic reaction to camber mfg. formerly taking actavis mfg and i'm trying to get those again but now i see i probably should not be taking actavis because i do get serve headaches, fatigue, and no one seems to be able to help. i broke a few things, arm, shoulder, neck. how do i find out what the inert ingredients are?
Not true. Manufacturers have a 20% leeway on active and non active ingredients. So percocets can have anywhere from 8mg to 12mg of oxycodone. Legally. Watson and qualitest have been known for not shorting on meds.
i myself prefer. walgreens Watson. seem to dissolve better.
Watson is now Actavis !! Sometimes it can get in your mind that one does not work as that has happened with me !! The ones that I get 90% of the time has 10/325 on one side and M523 on the other side and work GREAT !! I also sometimes get ones that have L204 on the tablet and they work just as well for me !! It just depends what COSTCO has in as I have no drug coverage just Medicare !!
I really don't think it will matter very much. However, I do like Watson for many other meds. I'm not sure if I ever had Watson Percs, I may have. Last year I had MsContin made by Endo. I didn't like them. I also had them by another co. but I forget who. I liked the other co. better. If it was me, I'd go with the Watson.
Watson definitely! More expensive and doesn't cut corners like Actavis /Tylox and Endocet,Actavis is the worst by far in my 6.5 years of taking Watson 10-325 Percocet.
Just FYI , ACTAVIS bought out and is now WATSON !!! I have found no difference in their meds though !!! God bless !!!
I get my Oxycodone 10/325 at COSTCO and they are made by Mallinckrodt Inc Pharmaceuticals Group. They work really well and I have been a Chronic Pain patient taking these for over 25 years !! I am also on the Fentanyl patch and change mine every two days instead of three !!! God bless each of you !!!
Watson is Actavis my friend !! They bought them out a few years ago !! Check it online !! God bless !!
Thanks a lot. You and a few others have said the same thing!
The ones they give Hospitals are stronger! Watson in the Hospital is stronger than Watson in the bulk pharmacy form. Endocet is the most consistent. IP 204 is garbage! Avalon 10/325 has many bad side effects including nightmares! Get name brand! Insist on it! It may cost more but it’s more effective!
