I have been taking ativan (lorazepam) for a few years. Just recently is hasn't agreed with me. Makes me wired and panicky. I am tapering off it now... slowly,,, but after thinking about it, I had my generic changed from one pharmaceutical company to another, right around the time I started to react strangly to it. Currently I have Ranbaxy generic .5 mg, where as before I believe it was sandoz. Anyone having any troubles with the ranbaxy brand> anyone have a preference in brands as far as how well the medication works? I realize the generic has the same active ingrediants, but the fillers could make a difference... i was once told.
thanks
also, if you have a preference for mirtazapine generic i would like to know. I have Mylan, just strting out, and hoping its decent.

So, look up the inert ingredients. There is a tablet discinigrent called Polacrillin Potassium that every manufacturer in the USA now puts in their Ativan-even the brand! I had Ranbaxy years ago and no problem, but then changed to Qualitest and took for years, no problem, they got sold to Par and Par uses their formulation not the Qualitest one that didn't have that in it. I got Watson and took one pill and it hadn't even gone past my throat when I had a reaction like you describe, except really bad, and had to take Benadryl to reverse it. We hunted it down and this IS the issue for many people. They just don't know, and it actually comes from a petrochemical. Teva Canada does not use it. Teva USA does. I have been paying 112.00 a month to have it compounded-can't afford it anymore. Ativan works for me otherwise.
since sandoz was working i would go back to that.
it will help you with any med you take to find out if it has an ab rating, just call the manufacturer to find out the rating of their generic XXXXX. i am not sure if your drugstore has the rating info on the paperwork that the drug comes with, but wouldn't hurt to ask. i have also had some success with googling. best of luck to you, some generics make you ill, some do nothing for you and some work well.
thanks, I will check that. Also, I can't go back to sandoz because they stopped making it. :o( oh well.
Any luck on this?
Sandoz is again not making lorazepam in the .5mg dose.
I’m looking for a replacement.
Thanks
