Hello Michael3978. Chlomipramine is an older generation of drugs that comes from the Tricylic family. It is a late comer to the United States (only approved back in 1990) You should feel relief in another 10 days or so. Starting dose for OCD is 25mg and daily doses range from 155 to 300mg. My doctor said I had ocd cause of unwanted intrusive thoughts, the thoughts that came to me I would never do so he prescribed me clomipramine. How's does ocd intrude your mind for unwanted intrusive thoughts?
typo *Tricylic * Should read *Tricyclic* My excuses.
Our minds are very complicated and they don't really understand why these things happen, but they have found some things to help get rid of them.
I sure hope so, I wanna feel myself and not a monster cause of my thoughts
I could go into the chemical process but that would be a long, possibly boring group of numbers, break down, chemical analysis. The brain, in the case of OCD, simply put, is working overtime in one area. Thought processing. Words and actions. Your brain in taking this drug, will correct, reset its thought, thinking pattern. Say, good thoughts, instead of so called bad thoughts, or thoughts that can control. Give it a bit of time, it has a high rate of success. Over 70% of people taking the drug do extremely welll, and it is difficult to know they have OCD.
These medications can take up to a month to help.
