I have been on Ajovy for 4 months so it is well established in my system now … My doctor also said that it had zero side effects. My migraines are greatly reduced but when I do have a break though migraine it is severe with vomiting etc. Despite less migraines I have noticed a general feeling of low energy and decreased sensitivity and decreased ability to achieve orgasm. It could also be due to peri menopause but I am still more interested in the effects of this drug on libido since its goal is probably decreased nerve sensitivity to reduce pain?
Dreading bringing this up with my neurologist but I am not sure if I am willing to continue if this is a lasting side effect who knows what else will be lost with taking this drug? Has anyone had a similar experience? Thanks in advance
Does Ajovy cause decreased libido!?

No medication has “zero” side effects for all. I was on Ajovy for chronic migraine prevention for a year (2018-2019) and it really helped prevent migraine attacks for me. However, I did experience slight weight gain over the course of my year on Ajovy with no discernible change to diet or exercise, etc. I have also been on Aimovig and Emgality (seemingly no weight change for me on either), and many doctors say these newer CGRP meds “do not have side effects” because in (very specifically controlled) clinical trials over a year or so, X side effect did not show up and/or may never have been reported by the participants in said trial(s). When a new medication gets released into general population, a lot more side effects can begin cropping up for a ton of reasons. All of us react differently to things, and with the CGRP migraine medications being so new, a lot is left to be discovered. I recommend telling your doctor anyway, and also reporting side effect(s) on fda site and with the medication manufacturer directly (Teva makes Ajovy). Very best of luck to you!!!
