I take 100 mg in the morning & 100 mg at bedtime & have experienced no side effects. You might start by taking it at bedtime first to see how you react, then add a morning dose if you still feel you need it.
Hi Loriz7, Are you referring to Xanax or some other drug? If it is Alprazolam generic for (Xanax) then take it as prescribed. I have taken .5mg of Alprazolam for many years 3 times a day if needed. Usually, I take it around 12:30pm, 5pm & at bedtime. My doctor prescribed Trazodone 100mg at bedtime for sleep! Are you just starting out w/this medication? Hope, that I've been of assistance to you!
Hi, Loriz!
"When considering the use of herbal supplements, seek the advice of your doctor. You may also consider consulting a practitioner who is trained in the use of herbal/health supplements."
Since one of many of 5-HTP's side effects is extreme drowsiness it might be best to start with taking it at night until you see how it affects you. Be aware that it can also cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, heartburn, stomach/muscle pain, bruising, fever, and skin rash.
Thank you.
