I started on 5hpt yesterday and I felt great. I took 100mg 3 times daily without food, the last dose was about an hour before bed. I don't think I got any sleep at all. Has anyone had success by lowering the dose or shifting the times taken.
Hi, there isn't a LOT of information about 5-hydroxytryptophan. However i have come across a guide listing the reasons for which it is and can be used for. 300mg is the maximum dose (currently listed) for treating depression. Apparently if you have trouble sleeping for 2 weeks or more, you must reconsider the way you take this medication. Research says that combining 5-HTP with gamma aminobutyric acid (GABA) helps people sleep. I am not recommending this from personal experience or in any way, i am simply supplying you with the facts that i hace come across...
