"I've broken my neck 3 times. I am fused from C2-T2, and I'm having adjacent level issues, so I'm having trouble walking. Oxycodone allows me to get off the couch and get on with my life. All the side effects have been gone for a long time, including any 'high' I ever got. Unfortunately, due to the abuse problem in the U.S., it's gotten harder for me to get my scripts filled. I take the meds exactly as prescribed and lowered my dosage, yet I sometimes get a hard time from pharmacists, and pharmacies are often out of the medicine. Instead of focusing on those who take the medicine responsibly, maybe the government should go after illegal drug dealers and smugglers bringing in heroin and fentanyl from China and Mexico and focus on abusers."

"Oxycodone is the only medication that helps my severe, intractable spine pain. The new movement/narrative that opiates don't work long term is a crock. The experts are the people who live the conditions."

"I have MS, and suffer from chronic pain. I have been on and off oxycodone for the last 20 years. Currently, I am taking 300 mg of oxycodone and 80 mg of OxyContin a day to manage my pain due to the tolerance I've built up over the years. My doctor unilaterally decided that he wanted to lower my doses. I asked him why, and he had no answer. Without them, I'm a bedridden man and am unable to function. In one visit, he cut my dose in half, which is very dangerous for my MS. So, I went to my neurologist, who understands more about the illness. He took over my care. I'm not talking to you abusers who take them to get high with no medical reason. It is because of you that it makes it difficult on us who actually need them for pain."

OxyContin (oxycodone) "I have been prescribed OxyContin 60mg for well over 6 years now. In just the last 2 months, I have gotten a refill. I know for a fact that either the manufacturer or where they get their medication through, there has been a shortage of the medication per the dosage compared to what it used to be. I don't know at what level this is occurring. Whether this is another government regulation that says if someone is prescribed 60mg tablets, the manufacturer is only allowed to put 30mg in that tablet? I have been on this same medication for a long time, and starting December 2015 and January 2016, my medication has been shorted. My body goes through tremendous withdrawal symptoms each month I refill this medication. I need an answer."

OxyContin (oxycodone) "Why are the reports for the public to read so jaded against the use of opioid medications? Too many false reports of abuse in chronic pain patients are mixed with clear reports of heroin abuse & deaths from heroin. Myself & most chronic pain patients, who are well-educated on side effects before starting opioids, all agree that the misuse of these opioids would never enter our minds. When prescribed these drugs, the result is the regift of our lives & functioning again. It is something we'd never chance losing after suffering the complete loss of sanity from unending pain that affects our ability to function in every way that a normal human takes for granted every day, every minute of their day and of their life. I'm in my 17th year of receiving pain relief with fentanyl."

OxyContin (oxycodone) "I was hit by an 18-wheeler. I fractured my spine. My doctor prescribed OxyContin because I'd been taking high doses of acetaminophen for years, which affected my liver. I took OxyContin successfully for 3 years 'til the US government decided chronic pain patients are expendable. I successfully weaned off of OxyContin, without any help! My doctor made sure I had enough to wean off before he left his practice. Reality: Only 0.3 percent of chronic pain patients ever become addicted. The US government has recently admitted to fraudulent and overstated numbers, elevated by over 50 percent! I've done every other treatment recommended by doctors, most incredibly expensive and invasive. Nothing worked, and I've been bedridden for the past 3 plus years."

Xtampza ER (oxycodone) "I was on Fentanyl 50 mcg per hr, changing the patch every 48 hrs, before asking to be switched to MS Contin 60 mgs TID, and that stopped working after over 3 years of being on the same dosage. Finally, my doctor suggested I switch to Xtampza ER 36 mg BID. Once I switched to Xtampza ER, my pain not only increased, but my breakthrough medications had to be increased to Roxicodone 30 mg every 4-6 hrs PRN. Finally, after 3 months on Xtampza, my doctor put me back on Exalgo 16 mg/24 hr and left me on the Roxicodone 30 mg every 4-6 hrs PRN, but I hardly have to use more than 3 of those per day and am no longer suffering any pain."

"I use 30 mg oxycodone three times a day. It helps with pain and keeps me motivated to keep working. I have arthritis and Crohn's disease. The pills keep my pain under control and interestingly, the side effect is constipation. It helps control my frequent bowel movements. This medication is knocking two issues with one stone. The only bad thing is withdrawal if you run out and don't get the refill in time. It's not as easy as other meds that have auto refill, you always have to get a paper prescription for each refill. But the medicine really helped me for years."

Dazidox (oxycodone) "I’ve been taking generic 15 mg Roxicodone for a long time after chronic back pain and surgery. Then the doctor added 20 mg oxycodone generic for Dazidox. I called the pharmacy to see if the generic was immediate release or extended release for this, and they said immediate release. But I get far less results taking this than I do the 15 mg generic for oxycodone. Anybody have the same results I do? The 20 mg are far less effective than the 15 mg. Thanks for any responses. I hope nobody is in the same pain I’m in. I can’t go on living in this kind of pain. I thought the 20 mg and the 15 mg together would solve my pain issue, but it hasn’t. Thanks to anybody who is reading this and might have an opinion or help."

"Using oxycodone 10/350 from Walgreens, manufacturer Mallinckrodt, was ok in April. Went to NJ, used another drugstore, came back in July to Walgreens, same manufacturer, but the drug has changed. It does not relieve pain anymore and causes me to itch all over. What did they add and remove from this drug? Believe me, I'm not the only one complaining."

OxyContin (oxycodone) "I'm an ex-flooring installer of 17 years (11 years non-union, 6 union years). My back is wrecked. I have tears in 2 of my discs at L3/L4 and L4/L5 locations. I have no cartilage left anywhere in my lower back. My PCP put me through the tests, multiple MRI's/CT's, injections, lots of prednisone, and then finally Norco. It took me a few days of being on Hydrocodone before the relief started, but relief it was! I gained much of my functionality back. I was moved up to the higher doses and then on to OxyContin ER. OxyContin had fewer side effects and, in general, felt less wasted. I'm now on 60mg x3 daily with 20mg IR 3x daily. It's been very helpful in my life."

OxyContin (oxycodone) "This medication is great for my chronic back pain. I have been on the same dose for over two years, and it helped me get through most of the day just on two 20mg pills. Lately, it has stopped working as well, and I am having a lot of breakthrough pain as the OxyContin is extended release. From it working for almost 6 hours per dose, it now only helps for about 2 hours. It is great if you are also given something for breakthrough pain, but I cannot imagine being off of it, to be honest. I have had severe chronic lower back pain due to a pinched nerve, which causes shooting pain that goes up and down my spine and even causes my legs to go numb. I also have carpal tunnel in my right hand and fibromyalgia. Overall, this medication has been very helpful."

Roxicodone (oxycodone) "Been on and off of it for intractable pain and trigeminal neuralgia for 10 years. I was taking 30 mg every 4 hours or 6×a day. That worked for me for a long time until my doctor of 14 years retired, and it's been downhill from there. Now I'm only prescribed 30 mg 3 times a day and thinking about what options I have because when you're on these drugs for so long, you don't have adequate relief or adequate medication. It just leaves you in a state of withdrawal and increased sensitivity to pain."

Xtampza ER (oxycodone) "I was just switched to Xtampza ER, took my first dose this morning. My doctor did not mention food at all, but I always read about the meds I take. In BOLD, they say to take this med with food. If you take it in the morning before eating, you will get maybe half the dose. The oral bioavailability goes up by as much as 150% with a high-fat/high-calorie meal. I called the manufacturer, but they were unable to tell me exactly what is a “high-fat/high-calorie meal.” I ate some walnuts, two slices of Ezekiel bread toasted with butter, and about a cup of Promised Land chocolate milk. They also say that you should eat the same amount of food with each dose to maintain even blood serum levels. My guess is it is this lack of knowledge that is causing some patients to find this drug ineffective or erratic. I’ll probably settle on 1/4 cup walnuts, a couple of eggs (boiled), and maybe a Boost Plus (or chocolate milk). In any case, it seems to be working."

Xtampza ER (oxycodone) "I’ve been on high level opioids for 23 years due to a debilitating and disabling accident. For 18 years: six 80mg OC with six 30mg Roxycodone for breakthrough pain. Then, it was six 60mg MS Contin ( morphine ) with the six 30s. Then, the opioid crisis. From 540mg daily down to 90 in a year!!! The docs and insurance companies are the criminals here. If 90mg is “appropriate” then why was I on 540mg/day? And 660mg of OxyContin and oxycodone before that?? So, now we have Extempa. Completely worthless. That’s all I can say. It does nothing for pain. All of the poor souls like myself who have always followed the rules with narcotics contracts and pee tests are the ones who got completely screwed! Now, try getting a pain doctor to titrate! I’ve been on the same dose for 3 years; completely tolerant to it. God bless you all whom continue to suffer."

"I have been on oxycodone for 15 years for back pain, I have rods and screws in my back. My doctor cut me off cold turkey because the DEA raised his family practice. I just had another back surgery and was able to go back on the oxycodone for acute pain only. The pharmacy dispensed me RHODES Pharmaceuticals oxycodone 20 mg tabs, it’s like taking generic Tylenol from Dollar General. So much filler in it and bothers my stomach, I was able to cut the dose in half to 10 mg tabs. I recommend you get the KVK TECH brand as it works. Sad that I had to do that and give up half my pills, but the RHODES is straight garbage. In a couple of weeks, because of this “OPIOID CRISIS,” I can’t because of ADDICTS that have ruined it for chronic pain patients. This government of ours is telling our doctors what they can and can’t do. They don’t have the expertise to treat chronic pain patients! The RHODES PHARMACEUTICAL Oxycodone is straight junk."

OxyContin (oxycodone) "The extended-release OxyContin works the same for pain relief as Percocet, but with barely any side effects. Doesn't make me nearly as foggy or give me that euphoric feeling that Percocet does. I can focus better during the day and sleep through the night without waking up needing more pills."

I'm so happy I can now take my son for a walk and do things that I couldn't do before. I want to thank my doc for taking my pain away."

Xtampza ER (oxycodone) "I was put on this medication for chronic back pain and primary progressive MS. I had been on OxyContin and oxycodone. The medication simply doesn’t work for me. My insurance company finally approved my old medications for me. I understand the abuse that goes along with the opiate medications. However, I don’t abuse it. I never will, either. I hate taking pain medications, but I have no choice. Good luck with the pain for all of you."

OxyContin (oxycodone) "Was prescribed Oxy due to back pain. Never took meds in the last 30 years of my life. I took only one of these, and I'm laying on a gurney right now. Suffered a minor stroke. If it wasn't for my wife and her diligence to call 911, I'd be dead right now. Watch the documentary on Oxy, then decide whether this drug is safe. The list of side effects is longer than my arm. Be wise and prudent before you decide to swallow any meds. Be safe."

OxyContin (oxycodone) "I have Fibromyalgia and major back problems. Recently, I visited the ER for my back, and they gave me Tylenol 3, which did nothing for my pain. I went to the doctor a few days later and told him I need something stronger, and he prescribed me 10mg of OxyContin twice per day. I can only tolerate taking one per day (any more makes me throw up), but since starting this medicine, it has significantly reduced my all-around pain levels by at least 85%! I am grateful for this medicine."

Xtampza ER (oxycodone) "Started this medicine three weeks ago, and it doesn’t help much at all for pain. Don’t do well with capsules, so open it up and put contents on yogurt to consume. For breakthrough pain, dropped from 30 mg oxycodone to a smaller quantity of 15 mg, and that hasn’t worked either. Now, constant pain level worse than ever. Worse, three of the capsules were empty."

OxyContin (oxycodone) "I had knee replacement years ago, when they got in there, it was a lot worse than what they thought. I ended up with steel from almost my hip to halfway down my shin. This has made a difference in my walking and being wheelchair-bound. With OxyContin, I can shop and do normal things. Without the pain relief it gives me, I would be useless."

"On oxycodone generic Rhodes, pharmacy switched to Rhodes from KVK Tech. Rhodes did nothing. Called my insurance caseworker who made arrangements for an override so ins would cover second script had to take the Rhodes pills in to pain management to be destroyed. New prescription was not phoned in override expired pharmacy that script was called into ran out of KVK now had Rhodes. Total nightmare. Everyone needs to file an FDA complaint. It’s easy to do online from phone. And is only way Rhodes will go away. As they are selling their rubbish oxycodone cheap. Lol."
