Reviews for Tri-Sprintec to treat Birth Control
Review by in love (taken for 1 to 2 years):
My periods are shorter and I'm regular. My face is clear and I haven't suffered from any weight gain, although I do have some PMS mood swings sometimes but I've been on this pill for almost two years and its definitely helped this 22yr old.
Good for preventing pregnancy and clearing up Skin. But it does make some women gain water weight. I gained 20 lbs on it and rapidly lost it in a month when I switched to another brand. So make sure you notice how it affects your body while on it. To me the weight gain was not worth it.
I've been on this pill for over three months and Tri-Spintec has good and bad aspects. The good thing is its contraceptive. The not so good things are: my period lasts about ten days; I have really bad mood swings before; it causes nausea and lastly my acne has gotten worse. I used Ortho Tri-Cyclen since I was nineteen and it was absolutely wonderful.
I have been on this pill for about a year now and I just cannot deal with it anymore! I used to be so happy but lately I'm a different person, someone who is not nice. At first I thought just I hadn't gotten used to it yet but as more time has went on I am hateful, severely depressed, nauseated, very tired, and constantly just an unhappy person. It has effected my relationships with everyone and the next chance I get I'm switching to something else. I'm not saying it will do this to everyone but I know it has been awful for me. One thing it had done is what it was supposed to do, it kept me from getting pregnant.
I'm 19, & started taking this pill because my boyfriend & I are pretty active & we use protection, but aren't necessarily fans of it. My doctor had advised me to continue using protection for at least the 1st month that I started the pill, & we did. I've been on the pill for almost 4 months now; no condom, no baby! The 1st month, I was an emotional wreck & completely lost my appetite. Now, I'm perfectly normal, haven't gained/lost any weight, my cramps are worse than ever the first 2 days of my period each month, my period still lasts a week but it's lighter, my libido has lowered, & I randomly get slight acne (I haven't had acne since I was 13 & I KNOW it's the pill). Other than that, this pill fulfills its purpose & I'm very satisfied :)
I have been taking this birth control for a year and i loved it! it has done an amazing job with preventing pregnancy and working with other medicines i take for migraines. The only problem i have had with this pill was that i have gained 25 pounds since i started it last November and i had really bad cramping the week before i started my period. I play soccer and work out a lot and i eat healthy and the weight gain has got me really down so im probably going to talk to my doctor about changing pills.
I love the pill my period is on the exact date of the sugar pills, but my breasts are always SO sore! That's the only side effect I've had along with some blood clots here and there but I highly recommend
Review by Stephanieeeee (taken for 1 to 6 months):
I have been on this pill for almost 2 months with non-stop bleeding. I have maybe had 3 or 4 days total where I wasn't bleeding and during that time my discharge was thick with a foul odor. I have never had any problem with my discharge nor odor. I'm hoping my period will straighten out after 3-4 months. As far as weight goes, it's helped to trim inches in what seems to be all the right places. I took before/after pics because I'm also diet/exercising for my polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and I've noticed a huge difference and change in my body in just 2 months. I'm hoping in time my period will ease up because if not, I can't keep this up. The point of the pill was to help with irregular periods, PCOS and prevent pregnancy.
Review by 94courtney (taken for 6 months to 1 year):
Been on this pill for 6 months now. Never had any problems like everyone else. I always had trouble with my periods; lasted 8 days, super heavy, sick when I started and bad cramps. Plus my period lasts only 4 days. The only side effects I have is light cramps and not as hungry anymore. I weighed 160lbs and now weigh 147lbs. I love this pill and will continue taking it.

I started taking this birth contol 4 days ago for contraceptive purposes, however I have had terrible cystic acne for the last 3 years of adulthood and its all cleared up. Not to even to mention, I have lost NINE pounds in 4 days and have had absolutely NO side effects. I have taken several types of birth controls and have had awful side effects. I am hoping to continue liking this pill! So far, so good!

I have been taking Tri-Sprintec for one month now and it made my period come early. I just took the last blue pill and I have been bleeding for 14 days nonstop. Now I'm on the placebo pills so hopefully the bleeding will stop in a few days. At first it was just spots of blood and then I had heavy bleeding. It has made me very emotional and sensitive and the loss of blood has made me so tired with no energy. Been having really bad nightmares and cramps. I'm going to try a different pill next month because this one is definitely not working for me.
To all of those girls (I'm 20 but I'm confident it will work for women of other ages) who think they will never have a clear face and will forever be burdened with horrible pimples, burning acne creams, pills, scrubs etc. THIS birth control is for you! I have never done a review of anything but felt the need to let all the girls out there with bad acne that there IS help. I was on it for a month and then immediately saw results. My awful, deep, painful pimples started disappearing and within 2 months I had a perfectly clear face- no acne at all. I do have some red spots from past pimples and once in a while when I'm stressed I'll get a pimple or two but Tri Sprintec is my SAVIOR. I tried EVERYTHING for my acne and this worked.
I've been on Tri-sprintec for about 8 months and it is really effective. So far, I've had shorter periods (4 days) and I don't notice a lot of acne or emotional issues. However, I have had a weight gain of about twenty pounds on this medicine despite the fact that I was actually exercising more than I did previously. I've always had problems gaining weight and had been about 105 lbs for quite a few years so a few pounds wouldn't have hurt, but this weight gain was pretty troubling due to how rapid it was. I wanted to wait and see if things slowed down but I think I am still gaining so I may talk to my doctor about switching to a different pill.
Review by clear skin and regulated (taken for 5 to 10 years):
I love this pill so much I plan on taking it until I'm 50! Regulated my periods right to the hour of arrival. No cramps, shortened them from 7 days to 4 days. Skin became dewy soft and clear. It did cause some weight gain but not much more than 5-7 lbs. Been taking this for 5 years and no side effects. I do recommend this.
Got put on this after my insurance stopped covering Ortho Tri Cyclen. I used this years ago and honestly had no issues with it. Helped with my PMDD and heavy periods and breakouts. I was on this for about a year until I got switched to Tri-Nessa.
Review by LaurenLaughs20 (taken for 2 to 5 years):
I've been through the mill with birth control pills. I've probably tried and quit 10 contraceptives. I LOVE this pill, though. It helps with regulating my periods since I have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) and now I'm actually able to get pregnant. I might mention that I'm a decently sized woman, too. It completely stopped my acne. I've never, knock on wood, had any problems with blood clots, quickened heart rate, high blood pressure, headaches, increased appetite, decreased appetite, tenderness of breasts, or an increase in the depression I already suffer from. I would recommend this contraceptive to any woman. Get this birth control! You will not be sorry.
I take this pill every night at 10, which is easiest for me. But, after taking this pill for almost 3 weeks, my appetite has almost became non existent. I rarely eat because my stomach feels very upset. Other than that, this is an awesome pill. My face has cleared completely, no mood swings, and no fatigue.
After having negative experiences with a monophasic pill, my doctor decided to put me on this tri-phasic pill and my experience has been so much better. During the first month and a half, I would get spells of nausea about 2-3 hours after taking the pill, but these eventually went away. My breasts have not swelled as much on this pill, my acne has cleared up completely, and I even lost some of the weight I had gained on the last pill since Tri-Sprintec suppressed my appetite. I'm in my 7th month of taking Tri-Sprintec and since taking it, I have had stronger emotional responses to things, but no irritability or moodiness. It has been a very effective birth control for me.
This pill is good on preventing pregnancy. I've been on it for 4 months and was scared to try it. But I don't get sick, my periods are about 5 days, and everything is good except my acne. I used to get some breakouts on my back and shoulders and that's totally gone but my face has gotten pretty bad. I'm going to switch to a lower hormone one because my face has never been this bad before.
As far as birth control, it is an extremely effective contraceptive pill! Never got any severe side effects; some nausea the first week, but that's about it. Also, my periods are about the same flow wise, but very little cramping, about 4 days long instead of 5. I used to have awful skin, and now it is clear! The only thing that happened when I went on this medication that may be displeasing to others is that I gained about 30 pounds. My varying weight before was 106-110, and now I am between 130-136lbs.
I had no complications with this birth control other than minor nausea in the mornings. If I missed one and took it too close to another one in the same day, I would be throwing up. I probably needed a lower dosage. I did quit for other personal reasons about 2 months ago and have had anxiety. I've been fearful, scared, depressed, and feeling really weird and its not me! I feel I can't control it and really believe it to be the birth control since my hormones are unbalanced now. I've read from other woman that it gets better after a few months and I so hope that is true. I'm debating if I want to go back on it to regulate my hormones and period, because since its been some time, I don't want to get sick.

I've been on it now for a month and I've been very moody, angry, and just wanting to be by myself. I've gained 5 extra pounds, but as far as acne goes its been clear. I've been getting really bad headaches, and wanting to throw up after I eat. It seems like I've gotten all the side effects.
