"I took this pill for about 3 years! Stopped taking it due to migraines that developed a couple years in, my Dr thinks it was the dramatic hormone fluctuation throughout the packs due to it being a triphasic pill. She’s switching me to just “Sprintec” now (tried giving me Lo Loestrin FE before this for low hormones but spotted for months straight, irritable, frequent break outs that weren't normal for me.. couldn’t deal with it anymore). As for effectiveness, Tri Sprintec worked great! I never got pregnant, regular periods during placebo week. Had clear skin the whole time.. I never had acne issues before the pill. It did however make me gain about 10lbs or so throughout the years, but that could be due to lifestyle as well. lol"

"I switched from TriNessa to Tri-Sprintec around 6 months ago, due to the discontinuance of TriNessa. I had previously been on TriNessa for roughly 3 years with zero side effects. Once I switched to Tri-Sprintec, I couldn’t even tell the difference. These two contraceptives are the only ones I’ve ever been able to take. All others have had way too many unbearable side effects. My acne has improved. I suffer from headaches and Tri-Sprintec has not worsened them at all. I have no gastrointestinal side effects. No tenderness. I don’t notice a difference with my mood either. Menstrual cycle is regulated well with a light to moderate flow. I highly recommend."

"I started taking this birth contol 4 days ago for contraceptive purposes, however I have had terrible cystic acne for the last 3 years of adulthood and its all cleared up. Not to even to mention, I have lost NINE pounds in 4 days and have had absolutely NO side effects. I have taken several types of birth controls and have had awful side effects. I am hoping to continue liking this pill! So far, so good!"

"I love this birth control! I am usually really moody for some reason and starting this I am constantly happy and less stressed for some reason, I had a very heavy first period but all is well now. Highly recommend"

"I started this pill when I was 16 for my acne, it was the first pill I ever took. It wasn’t until about a year or two later that I started to realize all the side effects I hadn’t noticed. I was tired ALL the time... like sleep 10 hours at night wake up and take a five hour nap after doing light activity kind of tired because I was drained. I lost all sex drive and arousal. This really took a toll on me emotionally because I was 18 years old and dry as a desert. I was a moody miserable mess and couldn’t stop crying over literally anything. My acne slightly improved but it’s hard to tell if it’s from the pill or my dermatologist visits. This pill did the bare minimum, it kept me from getting pregnant. Stay away from Tri-Sprintec especially if you’re young."

"I took Tri Sprintec for a year and though it was effective, the side effects were horrible. One being the fact that I naturally have a heavy and long 7 day period. There was no change in length nor flow of my cycle. The second and worst side effect would be that I was constantly nauseous even after the first three months. The pill changed my taste buds and made eating (something I Love) hell! "

"I was on Tri-Sprintec for 2 months and it completely cleared my cystic acne. I had terrible, terrible acne for about 7 years before that and it completely scarred my cheeks. it even seemed to help with the scars a bit. I also lost a bit of weight on this pill. The only problem I had was that I would get a 2 day migraine on the first pack of pills. I switched and realized the headaches were a lot better than the other medicine so I am now switching back to Tri-Sprintec. This is by far the best birth control I've been on."

"Tri-Sprintec was the first birth control I ever took. I was 17 years old and I took it until I was 19. Tri-sprintec caused me the worst years of my life. I was so depressed to the point where I could barely get out of bed sometimes. I got to a point where life was too much. I cried almost everyday for the last 2 months on this pill until I couldn’t take it anymore! I went to the doctor and she told me, surprisingly, that everything I was feeling was common taking Tri-Sprintec! She immediately switched me over to “Sprintec” and I have not been having issues with my hormones at all. The only thing I hate about this pill is that it takes away my sex drive.. I literally never get “in the mood” anymore and it sucks. I don’t even remember the last time I was horny... but I guess you have to give to receive."

"Absolutely the worst experience of my life. I’m honestly considering switching doctors for even thinking this was okay to prescribe. These pills have made me very depressed and my periods are heavier and longer and more painful than usual. I also gained weight. "

"I love this birth control! I was on it for two years and had no major problems at all! I went off of it and tried another birth control and I hated it and went back on Tri Sprintec! So this is what I can say while being on this pill, I have received my normal period every month on time, my periods are lighter and I have less cramps. My boobs always feel fuller when I am on this pill and look perkier! My acne has really disappeared while on this birth control so it definitely stabilize my hormones in that way. My weight has been pretty consistent. The first month going on it I was a little more emotional but nothing crazy. The only true downside is my sexual urges did decrease, I still get in the mood but I definitely saw a difference when I went on the pill. Overall, I highly recommend it!"

"I started taking Tri-Sprintec because my insurance no longer covered the brand name Ortho Tri-Cyclen, and it was the worst experience ever. I immediately broke out and my periods got worse. I started to experience mood swings and worse cramps. I stuck with it hoping it would get better but it never did. I would not recommend Tri-Sprintec or Sprintec to anyone, both of these made my life a living nightmarel."

"Started the Tri-Sprintec pill about 3 months ago and it’s one of my biggest regrets. I should’ve listened to the reviews. I experienced horrible anxiety, my depression has been at an extreme low, crazy nervous sweats, nausea, loss of appetite.. and last but not least, the mood swings. I’m usually a pretty chill person, aka not usually moody. So this was different for me. These pills really messed me up. That’s my honest review"

"I'm on my fourth month of Tri Sprintec and things are looking up!! The first month was definitely pretty torturous, I had a headache pretty much every day and my boobs hurt so much that it hurt to walk too fast. My period came as scheduled, and I decided to keep on it. The second and third months were a breeze. Breast pain vanished and my headaches are back to the frequency they were without Tri Sprintec. This is definitely a pill for people that do not already have mood swings or heavy periods. I have noticed absolutely no changes to my mood, even during my bleeding week, and in general nothing has changed in my day-to-day besides dismissing a birth control alarm every morning. My skin has cleared up and is glowy, but I *think* I have noticed a larger loss in hair, like while washing or brushing it. Otherwise a very good fit for me, someone who is very chill, never had mood swings, and doesn't have difficult periods. I just had to take away one star for that awful first month!"

"I’ve been on tri-sprintec for about 7-8 months now....I started after my second pregnancy (obviously to avoid a third) and kept putting off what I was feeling because I felt my emotions were related to postpartum: they most certainly were/are not. This pill causes hormonal DISASTER. I am cranky, quick to argue with my husband, have ZERO sex drive whatsoever, and cry over a messed up order of huevos rancheros. I talked to my doctor about it and she recommended switching pills because tri-sprintec is known for its side effects. I just want my body/mind back. This drug should not be marketed."

"Has anyone experienced horrible gas? I’ve never been this gassy. My farts are uncontrollable and I fart all day even in my sleep. I hate it and I will stop taking it. I was on Trinessa which was good & now this is a mess."

"I hate this birth control. Steer clear from this! I originally was taking Ortho Tri Cyclen but sadly they discontinued it. I never had any side effects from it. The clinicians at planned parenthood told me Tri Sprintec is the generic brand for Ortho Tri Cyclen so I didn’t think it would be a problem. But I was wrong! I get so moody and my anxiety has gone way up. I get chest pains at night and panic attacks before bed every night. I can’t sleep anymore unless someone sleeps in the bed with me and I’m 20! This birth control has taken over my social life and my own health. Highly do not recommended but everyone’s body reacts to things differently."

"Good for preventing pregnancy and clearing up Skin. But it does make some women gain water weight. I gained 20 lbs on it and rapidly lost it in a month when I switched to another brand. So make sure you notice how it affects your body while on it. To me the weight gain was not worth it."

"I switched from Yaz (I was on it for 2 years) to Tri-Sprintec this month because of all the warnings. I think I would have rather suffered the blood clots and heart attacks than gone on this if I knew what was going to happen! About a week in I started getting really REALLY bad acne (just in time for spring semester!) like worse than I've ever had. And not just on my face, on my back and chest too, which hasn't happened since middle school. I've gained a lot of weight in the worst places even though I've been going to the gym more and eating better and I SWEAR my breast size has actually gone down. I feel so unattractive I don't even want my boyfriend to touch me. "

"I've been taking this birth control for about 3 months now and my side effects are horrible! When taking it at night it makes me feel a little nauseous but I continued thinking it would pass. So then after not liking the way it made me feel I took it off and on (missed a couple of days) well now I have completely stopped because of the dizziness, pain in my lower right arm, nausea and headaches. My dizziness came mostly during the night and would wake me from my sleep. This change from Tri Nessa to Tri Sprintec is the worse thing to happen to me! I have called my Dr. for a change, I cant do this med and I’ve had to even stay home from work bc of these symptoms."

"Was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo 4 yrs ago for 2 years, kept a healthy diet and exercised. Gained a little weight, but just on my girly parts! Very mild PMS, reg and moderate periods. Had a baby last year and used the mini pill for 9 months. Only been on Tri Sprintec for 6 weeks and right away I noticed side effects. It wasn't until I read some reviews that I realized I was getting hives from it. I have pretty bad allergies so I thought that was why. I am a very optimistic person and anytime I feel in a bad mood I do any/ everything to come out of it. It seemed like I was constantly TRYING to pull myself out of a funk. Also, noticed a decrease in appetite and libido. The positive is clearer skin- except for one recent breakout, it's FREE and I'm not pregnant."

"My doctor recommended this to me since I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo before and after having a child it no longer worked as well for me and began to cause cystic acne on my chin. She said Tri Sprintec is the generic for Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo and works similarly to your natural body's hormone process. Since I started it each month my skin has gotten clearer and the PMS mood swings before my period are getting better. I was definitely more moody after I started taking this birth control. The biggest thing I've noticed is lack of sexual drive but my skins clear, little weight gain, and no hair loss. So I'm sticking with it. "

"I've been on it now for a month and I've been very moody, angry, and just wanting to be by myself. I've gained 5 extra pounds, but as far as acne goes its been clear. I've been getting really bad headaches, and wanting to throw up after I eat. It seems like I've gotten all the side effects."

"I have been on tri-sprintec for four years now. Its the only pill I have ever been on. I truly love it to say the least! No weight gains, just a few mood swings around my period but that's about it. I would highly recommend it, I think its effects vary from person to person. My doctor told me before she put me on it, that pills do not make you add weight, however the hormones in it may cause you to get hungry more often and that's why people gain weight. Just watch what u eat and exercise regularly you will be fine!"

"I'm 19, & started taking this pill because my boyfriend & I are pretty active & we use protection, but aren't necessarily fans of it. My doctor had advised me to continue using protection for at least the 1st month that I started the pill, & we did. I've been on the pill for almost 4 months now; no condom, no baby! The 1st month, I was an emotional wreck & completely lost my appetite. Now, I'm perfectly normal, haven't gained/lost any weight, my cramps are worse than ever the first 2 days of my period each month, my period still lasts a week but it's lighter, my libido has lowered, & I randomly get slight acne (I haven't had acne since I was 13 & I KNOW it's the pill). Other than that, this pill fulfills its purpose & I'm very satisfied :)"
