Video transcript

Breztri Aerosphere is a triple therapy inhaler used to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or COPD.

It combines three different medications: budesonide, glycopyrrolate, and formoterol.

It’s meant to be taken regularly to help manage symptoms and prevent flare-ups, so it’s not a rescue inhaler for sudden breathing problems.

Each ingredient in Breztri Aerosphere has a different mechanism of action.

Budesonide is a steroid that reduces inflammation in the lungs.

Glycopyrrolate is an anticholinergic medication that blocks the effects of acetylcholine in the lungs.

This allows the airways to relax, making breathing easier.

Formoterol is a long-acting beta agonist that opens up the airways.

The usual dosage of Breztri Aerosphere is 2 inhalations by mouth twice per day.

Common side effects may include upper respiratory tract infection, pneumonia, back pain, influenza, muscle spasms, urinary tract infection, cough, sinus inflammation, diarrhea, and thrush in your mouth and throat.

To help prevent oral thrush, it is recommended to rinse your mouth after using your inhaler, ensuring not to swallow the rinse.
