ADJUST DOSING INTERVAL: Bile acid sequestering agents may bind ursodiol (ursodeoxycholic acid) in the intestine, potentially reducing its absorption and efficacy.

MANAGEMENT: Ursodiol should not be administered simultaneously with a bile acid sequestering agent. The prescribing information for colesevelam recommends taking concomitant oral medications at least 4 hours before colesevelam. For concomitant medications that require administration via divided doses, it should be noted that the required dose of colesevelam may be given once a day. Additional monitoring of clinical effects may be considered in patients requiring combination therapy and appropriate adjustments made if clinically necessary.
