1 potential interaction and/or warning found for the following 2 drugs:
- carbidopa
- droxidopa
Interactions between your drugs
carbidopa droxidopa
Applies to: carbidopa, droxidopa
MONITOR: Coadministration with dopa-decarboxylase inhibitors such as carbidopa may reduce the therapeutic efficacy of droxidopa, which is directly metabolized in vivo to norepinephrine via decarboxylation. Droxidopa is believed to exert its pharmacological effects through norepinephrine and not through the parent molecule or other metabolites.
MANAGEMENT: Dosage adjustments for droxidopa may be required during coadministration with dopa-decarboxylase inhibitors if an interaction is suspected.
