Using rofecoxib together with bromfenac may increase side effects associated with these medications. In particular, there may be an increased risk of serious gastrointestinal toxicity including inflammation, bleeding, ulceration, and perforation. The risk is dependent on both dosage and duration of therapy of each medication. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. Food significantly decreases the levels of bromfenac. Avoid eating a high-fat meal. Take bromfenac on an empty stomach at least 30 minutes before or 2 hours after a meal. This will make it easier for your body to absorb the medication.
