Paromomycin may increase the neuromuscular blocking effects of pipecuronium. This can increase the risk of severe and/or prolonged respiratory depression, which may be fatal. Antibiotics like paromomycin should generally not be used following surgery in which neuromuscular blockers have been used. If they are used together, vital signs should be closely monitored and the dosages adjusted accordingly. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
