Usual Adult Dose for Keratitis
Instill 1 drop in affected eye(s) 6 times per day at 2-hour intervals
Duration of therapy: 8 weeks
Comments:
- If more than 1 topical ophthalmic product is being used, administer eye drops at least 15 minutes apart to avoid diluting products.
- This drug should be administered 15 minutes prior to any eye ointment, gel, or other viscous eye drop.
- Consult other comments for specific administration advice.
Use: For the treatment of neurotrophic keratitis.

Administration advice:
- For ocular use only
- Remove contact lenses before instilling drops; may reinsert lenses 15 minutes following administration
- If more than 1 topical ophthalmic product is being administered, separate administration by at least 15 minutes to avoid diluting products; administer this drug 15 minutes prior to any eye ointment, gel, or other viscous eye drops
- Supplied in a weekly carton containing 7 multiple-dose vials in an insulated pack with 8 vial adapters, 45 pipettes, 45 sterile disinfectant wipes, and a dose card; patient should be instructed to refrigerate weekly carton within 5 hours of receiving from pharmacy
- If treatment is started immediately, it will be necessary to wait until the first vial is thawed (carton is stored in freezer at the pharmacy; thawing may take up to 30 minutes at room temperature); do not shake vial
- Follow instructions (steps 1 thru 19) included in Patient Information/Instructions for Use pamphlet
- To ensure accurate dosing, patient should consider setting an alarm as a reminder for dosing
Missed dose: If a dose is missed, continue treatment at next scheduled administration
Storage requirements:
- Prior to dispensing from pharmacy: Store in the freezer at or below -4F (-20C)
- Dispense weekly carton in the insulated pack in the Delivery System Kit
- Following dispensing: Weekly carton should be stored in the refrigerator (36F to 46F [2C to 8C]) within 5 hours of removing from freezer; may be stored refrigerated for up to 14 days
- Open vials should be stored in the original carton in the refrigerator or at room temperature (up to 77F [25C]); unused portion of open vial should be discarded after 12 hours
- Do not refreeze; do not shake
Patient advice:
- Read the US FDA-approved patient labeling (Patient Information and Instructions for Use).
- Vinson may be blurred for a short time after using this drug; if this happens, do not drive or operate hazardous machinery until vision clears.
