Moderate Potential Hazard, Moderate plausibility. Applicable conditions: Liver Disease

Avoid use of resmetirom in patients with decompensated cirrhosis (consistent with moderate to severe liver dysfunction [Child-Pugh B or C]); drug exposure and the risk of adverse reactions are increased in this population. The safety and effectiveness of resmetirom has not been established in patients with NASH cirrhosis. No dosage adjustment is recommended for patients with mild liver dysfunction (Child-Pugh A). Monitor patients during treatment with resmetirom for elevations in liver tests and for the development of liver-related adverse reactions.
