Monoctanoin Disease Interactions
There are 2 disease interactions with monoctanoin.
Monoctanoin (applies to monoctanoin) duodenal ulcer
Major Potential Hazard, High plausibility. Applicable conditions: Peptic Ulcer
The use of monoctanoin is contraindicated in patients with a history of duodenal ulcer. Monoctanoin may cause duodenal erosion and inflammatory cell infiltration. Multiple duodenal ulcerations adjacent to the infusion catheter were observed in one patient. Abdominal pain that occurs and is not tolerated is an indication to hold or discontinue monoctanoin.
Monoctanoin (applies to monoctanoin) liver disease
Major Potential Hazard, High plausibility.
The use of monoctanoin is contraindicated in patients with liver disease. Monoctanoin is extensively metabolized by the liver. Patients with impaired liver function are more likely to develop side effects.

Highly clinically significant. Avoid combinations; the risk of the interaction outweighs the benefit.
Moderately clinically significant. Usually avoid combinations; use it only under special circumstances.
Minimally clinically significant. Minimize risk; assess risk and consider an alternative drug, take steps to circumvent the interaction risk and/or institute a monitoring plan.
