"I use Uva Ursi in combination with D-Mannose and it works like a charm for me for my UTI or bladder infection. I usually catch it early and start using it right away. I use 2 grams of D-Mannose powder in water 3 times a day along with a 0.7 ml tincture of Uva Ursi in water 3 times a day. The Mannose I get says one or two times a day but I have no problem with 3 times a day. The Uva Ursi I use is one dropper almost full 3 times a day. The Uva Ursi is slightly bitter but I mix them together and the Mannose is slightly sweet so it doesn't taste bad at all. I only use it as needed and take it for about a week and it does the trick."

"Seems to help my wife to help prevent bladder Infections. It is a long term solution. 8 days as seen in a previous post is not nearly long enough. 30 days and longer. My wife is a diabetic and it did help."

"Uvi ursi does reduce kidney infections. But for fluid retention it is better paired with other herbs like cornsilk, queen of the meadow. Buchu and parsley helps but be careful of lowered blood sugar and increased appetite. ."

"After taking the recommended dosage for 8 days, little to no effect on the pain or discomfort. While it did help to urinate more; am very disappointed in Uva Ursi for an alternative medicine for UTI's. Will try D-mannose and see if better results."

"I use Uva Ursi now for my interstitial cystitis flare(s). Thinking I had a UTI, I used Uva Ursi leaf capsules 450 mg. It immediately reduced the symptoms, but came back after I stopped using it. Had tests done which were negative. Uva Ursi can be an OTC alternative to antibiotics for UTI, approved by my urologist. She thought this was my IC flaring, and I would now agree. Suggested to continue, and 1x day multi-probiotic. She also recommends D-Mannose, but as a preventative for UTIs. Supposedly, it can keep bacteria from sticking to the bladder wall. With both Uva Ursi and D-Mannose, the amount to take is unclear - what is safe and what works. I would not use both daily. I now plan to use D-Mannose 1x day as a preventative for UTI, and Uva Ursi for UTI symptoms and for interstitial cystitis flares. What works for me is 1 capsule 1x day, 1-3 capsules per day at worst of flare. For UTI, it was recommended to take 2x day for 7 days, like an antibiotic."
