Tafamidis for Transthyretin-Related Amyloidosis "I started taking Vyndamax in January 2024. Since then I have been experiencing a blood blister on my tongue about once a month. Then about three weeks ago, along with the blood blister my tongue went black with a fungus, which my cardiologist noted and reported to my GP. I presume Vyndamax has been reasonably effective in stopping the progress of my amyloidosis."

For Cardiomyopathy of Transthyretin-Mediated Amyloidosis "I totally understand all of your side effects from tafamidis. I have the exact same problems. The wheezing at night, the brown phlegm has since changed to clear phlegm. Very dry mouth that I have to get up to rinse with water, then I use Biotene rinse for dry mouth. But 2 hours later, I need to rinse again. Lack of sleep (insomnia). I went to a sleep monitor doctor for lack of sleep, and he gave me a medication that only lasts for 2 hours. Then back to rinsing and up for the day. There are side effects that are never mentioned because the doctors that prescribed tafamidis are not aware of them."

For Cardiomyopathy of Transthyretin-Mediated Amyloidosis "I started taking this medication (tafamidis) as suggested. Four 20 mg pills all at once. One day later, I started to experience severe shortness of breath, wheezing (most at night), cough and choking with a large brown phlegm-like substance, severe dry mouth at night, and insomnia. The doctor cut the medication down. But my system can't get accustomed to this medication."

For Cardiomyopathy of Transthyretin-Mediated Amyloidosis "I have been taking Tafamidis since January of 2019 - switched to Vyndamax in March of this year, 2020. I must say that I have not experienced any significant issues with either medicine. How effective it is I am not sure of."

Tafamidis for Transthyretin-Related Amyloidosis "15 months taking Vyndamax. I have never had side effects. My doctor and I have no way of knowing if Vyndamax is doing anything. No way to measure or compare against other patients. I feel good and I hope that I am 'buying' some time."

Tafamidis for Cardiomyopathy of Transthyretin-Mediated Amyloidosis "After 2 years of Vyndamax, my heart failure is advancing, probably at a slower pace than without it. I developed a nasty skin rash only over my legs and a few days later over my forearms, worse over the back of my knees and antecubital areas, maybe not related to this medication. It’s very hard to open the blister-packed capsules."

Tafamidis for Cardiomyopathy of Transthyretin-Mediated Amyloidosis "Taking Vyndamax on the recommendation of my cardiologist, however I have no idea if the medication is working as described and if so to what extent. I was not aware of an alternative medication until I saw an advertisement."

Tafamidis for Cardiomyopathy of Transthyretin-Mediated Amyloidosis "I have an uncontrollable condition of coughing, coughing, can’t stop sometimes. I also have tingling in my feet near my toes and my hands, my fingers… I prefer Vyndamax. It’s one pill a day, taking four pills a day, it’s too much. I’ve also had some wheezing since I’m taking Vyndaqel tablets."

Tafamidis for Cardiomyopathy of Transthyretin-Mediated Amyloidosis "I had lost a lot of weight. I am in my third month using the medication, seem to have a bigger, better appetite and have put on about 5 needed pounds in the last 3 weeks. Wondering if that is a positive effect of the medication?"

Tafamidis for Cardiomyopathy of Transthyretin-Mediated Amyloidosis "I am 77 years of age. I have been taking Vyndamax, 61 mg daily, for over 2 1/2 years. I haven't had any noticeable adverse side effects from the drug. I have not suffered any hospitalizations since beginning the drug. I had two ablation procedures to correct atrial fibrillation prior to the amyloidosis diagnosis confirmation and beginning to take Vyndamax. I am able to continue to exercise regularly and continue normal activities. Annual echocardiograms show mild heart failure but have not progressed abnormally. I am pleased with the impact of the Vyndamax on my general health and prognosis. Unfortunately, it does not slow the aging process."
