"Had it. Platelets were 9 and took WinRho, which kicked up platelets into 100's. But a few days later, went down again. Then went to Rituxan, which kicked up platelets, then down within a matter of weeks. Splenectomy was the last option, but nothing. Still stuck with falling platelets and medical bills."

"My daughter's platelets drop very low (less than 5). She has a good response with IVIg - one day of 30g will increase to 50-60 - but then they will drop again by day 5. Two days of IVIg will bring them over 200, and platelets will stay above 10 for about 12 days. We tried WinRho (1000 micrograms) with no effect after two days. We then gave her another 1000 micrograms, and still had no rise in platelets the next day. We therefore gave her another two days of IVIg. She has also been on Prednisone for the past 8 weeks, with no response."
