Oseltamivir for Influenza "I became very ill with severe vomiting, diarrhea, headache, fever, chills, aches, exhaustion... and I had a 5-month-old baby to take care of. All this despite the flu shot. Twelve hours after the initial onset, my doctor diagnosed me with the flu and prescribed Tamiflu. It slowly got better, and two days later I am somewhat functional... which is good, because now I have to take care of my baby and my sick husband. We'll be getting him Tamiflu, too!"

For Influenza "I am a 22 underweight female. I started having symptoms of the flu Wednesday, was diagnosed with a flu test Friday. Battled a fever up to 104.5 and severe dehydration. Definitely make sure you do the flu test before taking this. Drink more fluids than you ever have. I drink Pedialyte and lots of water. I always take this with a small snack! I just took my third dose this morning. Within about 10 hours of my first dose, my fever broke. I did have insomnia, weird dreams that didn’t even feel like sleep, and a headache. But this is way better than before. I definitely felt as though I had a severe illness more than the flu, and this medicine did wonders. I keep my head, neck, and lower back supported. I used warm compresses on my eyes and neck. Also, essential oils help to relax immensely. There are coupons for this drug. When you see bad side effects, you will automatically start looking for them. Chances are you will find them. Definitely would recommend!"

Oseltamivir for Influenza "Symptoms started Monday. Confirmed flu test and started Tamiflu Wednesday. I just took my third dose, and my fever has gone down from 103 Wednesday to 99 Thursday. I agree with the really vivid wild dreams and sleeping 3 hours at a time. Also, my taste and smell are almost completely gone. I am not sure if all of that is from Tamiflu or maybe it's just effects of the flu virus. Regardless, I feel much less achy, headachy, and fatigued. Also, I am not sweating buckets anymore. I am satisfied with the medicine."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "My daughter (8) and I (44) got the flu. Daughter had 102.5 fever, feeling horrible. I had a mild fever and was feeling very sick. We got prescribed Tamiflu, and within 24 hours we were both feeling much better. 48 hours later, we were okay and returning to normal activities (a bit tired, but that was all). 72 hours later, full return to very active schedules. My husband took Tamiflu as a preventative and never got sick. Overall, Tamiflu significantly reduced the duration of our flu. We started taking it within 24 hours of the first symptoms. I rated it a nine out of ten because we had headaches, and my daughter got leg aches after taking Tamiflu."

For Influenza Prophylaxis "I had bought this drug online for a trip to China. Never tried it before. Was concerned about the nausea and/or missed the short initial window for starting the course. Returned from a cross-country flight and within five days had a bad sore throat. Following directions, I took the first dose within 24 hours after eating a meal. No nausea. Day 4, I still feel sick - sore throat, sore neck by ears, hoarse, coughing, headache - but all are bearable, and I can function. I imagine it would have been much worse w/o the drug. I forgot to wipe down the airline seat and environs on the last leg of the trip. Never again!"

For Influenza "Having no bad side effects from generic Tamiflu. It only cost me $5 via my insurance for generic drugs. I was very worried about nausea and vomiting, but have not experienced that after taking 4 caps so far. I also no longer have flu symptoms, but I am continuing the entire pack to reap the preventative effects of this drug against another strain I did not catch yet. The side effects people describe seem to be exactly what I was experiencing from the flu itself: headaches and fluctuating periods of extreme fatigue, so I am hesitant to believe those are caused by the medication. I did get the flu shot in October, and this is February, and I am one of those who just experienced mild flu symptoms from being vaccinated. I chose this medication to provide added protection and prevention."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "If you suffer from any kind of respiratory infection, please avoid this prescription. Your infection will worsen. I had a cold and bronchitis. The doctor had prescribed Tamiflu. The whole day and night my head was pounding, part of my face was numb, and my breathing got worse. Stay away from it."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "Started feeling ill at lunchtime yesterday, by the time I went to the doctor at 7 pm, I had a 101° fever, chills, nausea, headache, muscle spasms, severe tachycardia, etc. Was prescribed Tamiflu, took the first dose at 9 pm along with Tylenol and Zofran. Took another dose this morning and already feel a night-and-day difference. The majority of symptoms are fine, still treating headache and low-grade fever with Tylenol, but don't feel like I've been hit by an 18-wheeler anymore. If you catch it early, Tamiflu works wonders. Take it with some crackers because the stomach can get a little bubbly."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "I commented below recently using the name MaryO12086. I'm on my last day of pills and wanted to give an update. When I first started taking these pills, I got the worst headaches and felt extremely tired and weak, which would last for 3 hours, but on my third day of taking the pills, this no longer happened. I started feeling a lot better! I'm now on day 5 (last day) of the pills, and I feel great. There is one other issue that I now have though. On day 3 of taking the pills, I developed some type of irritation on the roof of my mouth. I'm stuck eating bananas, bread, and avocados because everything else touches the irritation and stings really badly. This is my last day of taking Tamiflu, so I'm hoping that after I'm done it will heal and I can go back to living life normally! The side effects of these pills suck, but they did work for me, which is why I now give them a 7/10. The flu is really scary this year, so I'm glad I was able to finish my course."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "Not worth adding the symptoms of severe headache, nausea, and vomiting to an already awful flu. The side effects from Tamiflu made my illness so much worse."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "This caused the worst headache ever that would not break and horrendous insomnia. Never again. Would have been nice to be informed of possible side effects."

For Influenza "My 7-year-old son had flu for 6 days before they figured it out. He is a very active kid and barely moved off the couch/took 2 naps per day for most of that time. He cried if the TV was turned up past 13 and was very photosensitive. His fever was 101 on ibuprofen. When my 9-year-old daughter spiked a fever, we knew what she had. Off to the clinic, and they prescribed this medication. She is on day 3. Her fever is 99.7 at night and none during the day. She says her head doesn't hurt. Her eyes are still glassy and red. She doesn't have a ton of energy, but she's not laying on the couch lethargic like her brother. I'd say it was the best money we spent."
